EcPercy
LOL. his own mom charged her own son for a Wii. how sad. If my kids stole from me I would have them arrested as well. I don't think it's important that the monetary value of the item was low. It's the principle of the matter. You aren't supposed to steal.
hackdoom
I surely hope that you actually emphasize to your children that stealing is wrong, before condemning them. Just a suggestion. They rarely do, regardless. Hahaha. On a serious note, both are guilty.

Smashing Pumpkin
i'll admit, i skimmed over this thread. does anyone care that this kind of petty situation is helping to clog our justice system? Could you not argue that rather than clogging it is preventing clogging in the future, it's better to try and scare people away from crime when they're only doing minor offences rather than let them get away with it until it becomes something huge that matters more than a missing Wii. EcPercy
I surely hope that you actually emphasize to your children that stealing is wrong, before condemning them. Just a suggestion. Oh, don't worry. I am teaching them everything they need to know. I even had to talk with them about stealing from each other. (I have a son and a daughter) My daughter, older of the two, thought she could steal her brother's change and he wouldn't notice, but he figured it out. It only took a small counseling session for my daughter to realize that she should not take things that don't belong to her no matter how small the thing might be. I am the type of person that will leave $200-$300 lying on the counter. I need to know that even if the temptation is there my kids won't touch things that do not belong to them. ozgeek
I am saying this with guilt: When I was a kid, I used to steal money out of my parents room to purchase books. They figured out before I could get to the books and punished me by smacking. Since then I stopped stealing from them. My sister was another story. She'd take my hearing aid batteries (smaller and fatter than computer mobo batteries) to use in laser pointers. I told he I had to pay for those and that the batteries are only designed for hearing aid use only. She only stopped when she lost interest in the pointer. One afternoon, she stole my paint spray (I was using to art craft a lamp) to graffiti around town. Police got to her without our assistance.
