CelticWhisper
My girlfriend and I, having completed the PS2 installations of Baldur's Gate, have been looking for more games we can enjoy together. Since I dislike 2-player competitive games and she's not into FPSes or anything twitch-reflex based, we had the idea of working through adventure/puzzle games together and it's turned out, so far, to be a good one. We're starting with the Myst series - we just finished Exile last week and hope to start on Revelation soon. However, once Myst is done, I only know of one or two others that would be sure bets. With all the adventure games out there (Still Life, Fahrenheit, Rhiannon, Scratches, Dreamfall, Keepsake...) it's proving to be something of a challenge to figure out which ones are worth the time to play through and which ones would just disappoint us. We're looking for: -Logical puzzles that are challenging but not absurd -Aesthetic appeal. Not necessarily blow-you-away hi-rez graphics, but good art direction (she's an artist) -For my tastes, the more immersive and fleshed-out the better. I've played Still Life, Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, The White Chamber and Phantasmagoria and enjoyed them all, if that's anything to go by. Granted, those are all darker in tone than, say, Myst or what I've heard about Dreamfall, but I'm not interested in ONLY dark/horrific/serious-toned games, as long as they're good. I've played and enjoyed Syberia a lot too, which is more lighthearted. I'll finish with a list of games I've heard of but not played, or at least not completed: -Syberia (never finished 1, never played 2) -The Sinking Island -Barrow Hill -Dead Reefs -The Path -Scratches -Post Mortem -The Longest Journey -Dreamfall - TLJ2 -Legacy: Dark Shadows -Gabriel Knight (series) -Shivers (played snippets at a friend's place) -Rhem Hopefully that'll give you an idea of the sort of thing we're looking for. So...can you help me/us out?
