Duke Nukem Himself All But Confirms Duke Nukem Forever

Recommended Posts

Things are starting to get interesting, was the shutdown of 3DR a hoax, take a look at the pic that was posted on the Duke Nukem facebook page:

And, the voice of Duke, Jon St. John spoke:

In response to a fan?s question about the status of Duke Nukem Forever St. John stated:
I?m not allowed to speak on that subject, sir.

He?s asking about Duke Nukem Forever, let me go ahead and tell you right now that I?m not allowed to talk about Dukem Nukem Forever.

No, no, don?t be disappointed, read between the lines? why am I not allowed to talk about it?

There's a video on the article's site:

Honestly this shouldn't surprise anyone. Since 3DR did get outside funding to work on the game, it's very probable that the publisher is going to get the rights and then get a developer to finish it so they can recoup at least some of their investment.

Wouldn't it depend on the contract? The publisher may not have all the rights to the Duke Nukem franchise. But I don't know the details. If the publisher does own all the rights, then they are bound to find someone to finish the work or at least market on the name because it will no doubt sell well (at least initially).

This guy may not be able to talk about anything because there is a pending law suit between the publisher and the development team. At least that is what I heard.

Not surprised it's going to be made.

Take 2 sued to get the rights of the game.

I'm trying to think if there is anything else that have died and been resurrected as many times as this game and its not coming....(I mean for god sakes Jesus only did it once!)

I don't even know what to say anymore.

Yay? I think?

I love how this actually ****es some of you's off, don't read it if you don't wanna hear about it, i think it's ****ing funny and if them getting shut down was a joke then that's so amazing. I would be really really amped to play this game if it ever comes out and it's kinda win win. If its good then we get a good game, if it's bad then it will be freaking hilarious! Bring it on!

It's possible that the company was shut down for financial reasons but some of the people involved may still be working on it. Personally though I think the people involved should just move on with their lives. This game has eaten up well over a decade that they'll never get back.

I stand by this and say the game is always going to be more popular if it never gets released. Too much hype surrounds this game for it to ever be reviewed as anything positive.
