Medking
Hi everyone, So recently I lost my iPhoto Library and used Disk Utility to restore it. It wasn't a major deal because I was re-doing the way I store/edit my photos, so I had to remove them from iPhoto in the first place. However, now I'm trying to upload an album to MobileMe and it isn't really working. Usually it'll create the album and then just say "pending" for a couple of minutes, and then give me either a server error or just say that it can't be uploaded. Anyone have a similar problem? Any solutions? Does it have to do with the fact that I restored the privileges etc? Thanks, Medking
Medking
OK BIG EDIT: and a big problem as well. I was just browsing through my photos to find that some of them, albeit the thumbnails are displaying correctly (IN IPHOTO), the photo appears as corrupted. As in, a black exclamation mark in a white circle is appearing instead of the photos. I haven't done or touched anything, it seems to be a problem directly related to me trying multiple times to upload the files to MobileMe. When I transferred the photos from the Memory Card (SD) to the computer they were fine. Anyone know what's happening, and why? It's beginning to bother me severely. And I sure as hell don't want to lose my photos. Medking

Medking
My experiences with it up until this point have been ok. However I do agree that they need to sort out some key issues. Remaining on topic: I just tried rebuilding the database, to no avail. Nothing happened, basically.

Medking
OK, So the problem is that the original file locations cannot be located. Somehow, I don't exactly know, the files have been deleted from my computer. I haven't deleted them. Any further suggestions? They've also been taken off my camera, because I needed to free up the space. Is there any way of potentially restoring them from that location? (My SD Card) Thanks, Edited January 9, 2010 by Medking
Medking
RIGHT FINAL EDIT: PROBLEM RESOLVED. For those interested in what happened: From what I gather the file locations were missing for some or most of my pictures. This is because I deleted some photos the other day, and I was busy playing around with some presets in Lightroom at the same time. My export preset in Lightroom was exporting to a folder which was not being searched by iPhoto for file locations, nor was it inside the iPhoto Library. Hence, I had modified versions of files which were not appearing in my library, and the originals of these photos I had deleted for some reason or another. My workaround was to relocate the files in the trash, re-sort them into their correct date categories in the iPhoto library, rescan for the locations in iPhoto, and make a VERY important tweak to my preset in LR. I now have my "modified" preset exporting into the same folder as the original, but with as a sequence. Another of my presets already overwrites the original file, and so combining the two I can either scratch the original photo completely, or make non-destructive changes with exports as I please. Thanks for the suggestions guys, problem resolved. Medking
