Chicane-UK Veteran Posted June 18, 2003 Veteran Share Posted June 18, 2003 Yeah.. pretty cruel. The rebooting is funny.. the wiping the C:\ drive is just very cruel. Tis funny on a busy IRC channel trying to make people quit though.. have done 'try the quiz out with /qui' - and then watching 1/3 of the channel leave ;)

Statikk
Don't forget that everyone starts as a newbie. I know you guys all didn't come flying out of the womb with 1337 pants on. Getting him to disconnect is one thing, but having him wipe his drive was cruel. Chances are this poor guy can't even install windows himself. You may have just cost him $$ and time spent in the repair shop. Just because you aren't a newbie when it comes to general computing it doesn't mean you won't be a newb somewhere else learning something different. I joined the DSS scene in 1998 and everyone there for the most part is older, more mature, and helpful. Also joined the xbox scene about a year ago as a newb. Chances are within the next year you'll pick up interest in another hobby somewhere on the net, and just remember.... What goes around comes around. I hope you all meet your equals sometime in the near future.

Powerworks
Ok, I didn't do this so don't say i'm a jackass yet ;) I found it on another forum as I said in my original post. The worse thing I have done to a newbie on IRC is trick him into thinking /s made a cool action message.
