Scorbing
Guys I want to buy another PC game for my computer. Something that is Halo-like. First person shooter. I have seen many out there but I don't know if people are still playing them or not and I don't want to waste any money on something useless. I don't want to buy a game and find out no one is playing it online. You know what I mean? So, can you suggest a game?
LOC Veteran Posted January 9, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 9, 2010 Well, what do you mean by Halo-like exactly? Just the fact it has vehicles in MP or the speed of the characters, the weapons etc?
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted January 9, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 9, 2010 That's a bit general. Do you want a science fiction FPS game? Anyway, a good online FPS game that comes to mind is Team Fortress 2.

Yeah something like that or something like COD. I saw this game today at BestBuy. Looks interesting but I wonder if anyone plays it online? Battlefield 2142 How can I find out which games are being played the most online?

Pretty sure people are definitely still playing 2142 online. I would be shocked if they were not. And actually looks like they are... http://www.gametracker.com/search/bf2142/
LOC Veteran Posted January 9, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 9, 2010 http://www.game-monitor.com tracks a ton of games as well and you can see fairly accurately how many players and servers a game has. Some of the games on Steam ( like CS etc) are a tad off, but that makes sense in a way.

That is a testament to what a damn good game BF2 is.
LOC Veteran Posted January 9, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 9, 2010 Yeah, it's a great site. I've been using it for years ever since the GTA:SA mods started adding MP (which have a ton of players if you check hehehe) to them. BF2142 has ~3500 players right now btw. Which is pretty good :)
Scorbing
I went to BestBuy and got Counter Strike Source for $20.00. Very nice game. I like it.
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted January 10, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 10, 2010 I went to BestBuy and got Counter Strike Source for $20.00.Very nice game. I like it. One of my personal favorite games of all time, literally. I actually just tried playing the other day for the first time in over two years, and got my ass handed to me. Just a few words of advice. Be patient, move with intent, and never stand out in the open to long. I have to say give it a good chance, and keep in mind most people playing are going to be really, really good at it based on the fact a lot of CS players have been playing it a very, very long time now, and it is not the friendliest game to people who have never played it before to begin with. Meaning because people have been playing it so long they are extremely good at it, but with that said, just hang in there, and you will get the hang of it. One last bit of advice, always shoot in short bursts with any automatic weapons, never keep down on the trigger. Your aim will go to hell. Enjoy.
