+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 13, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted January 13, 2010 SCEA has confirmed that Heavy Rain won't be getting censored in the US, Europe or any other territories the firm has an office. The news comes from a posting on the US PS Blog. Back in October, Quantic Dream's Guillaume de Fondaumiere said the game would have to undergo cultural censorship in some regions in order to get the game an age rating. "And for those of you who have asked," said the post today, "the content is exactly the same as what's being released in all our territories, so you'll get to enjoy it exactly as Quantic Dream intended." That's the line, peeps. Queue up behind it. The game got confirmed for a February release last week. It releases on February 23 in the US, February 24 in mainland Europe and on February 26 in the UK. Sony told us last week it's "still planning" a pre-release demo for the game. Sex scene was cut from Fahrenheit in America, left in for Europe. Australia has a problem with violence.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 13, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted January 13, 2010 Mass effect and Dragon Age sex scenes were in the US versions, even the man on man ones in DA  How interactive/detailed were they though? In Fahrenheit you pretty much controlled thrust speed with the damn controller during a full blown sex scene. It wasn't a "oh the characters are having sex, can see a wee bit of skin/hear some noise" moment. Then have you seen the nudity in Heavy Rain? It's going to be full frontal, and you can guarantee some element of sex. I remember the ME one, it was hardly detailed at all then did you see Fox News covering it and calling the 360 the SexBox? America does overreact to nudity/sex. With Mass Effect, it's a short sex scene (non-interactive) and not much is shown (Although Singapore did ban the game for a time because of it, but later unbanned it) so that would by why it was left in. When it comes to nudity/sex, America seems to be pretty shy. Sex scene was cut from Fahrenheit in America, left in for Europe.Australia has a problem with violence. Very true, but what will most likely get it banned here is the nudity as it will most likely bump the rating to R18+ (which as everyone knows, we don't have for games) which will give it an instant Refused Classification and be banned from our shores... Great quote from escapist boards: This is HELL we are talking about.. from everything i've seen and read, the developers are probably being pretty RESERVED with what they put into it..Had this been a Japanese game company, they would have included scenes that would have ruined the rest of your life.
