Any Violin players out there?

I brought an electric violin for my partner for xmas and we have got everything in tune, but when she bows the strings is just sounds like a cat is being strangled/a stratching sound, it doesnt sound like a normal violin sound

Anyone got any ideas?

We have used the resin on the bow but it still sounds like crap

If you pointed out what you didn't like I would consider changing it, GL with the Violin.

Wax the bow... what I do on mine, however it's not electronic.

Failing that, I'd ensure it's toned and that she is holding the bow correctly and not letting it sway on the chords.
