Glowstick
WTF? I hate XP. If I press CTRL+ALT+DEL I wanna see the old school "Windows Security" box, no task manager.
configure Veteran Posted December 24, 2001 Veteran Share Posted December 24, 2001 For some reason, I did see that Windows Security box when I press CTRL + ALT + DEL :p
patrick
You get the security dialog if your computer is part of a domain, if not you get the task manager. At least that's what I've observed. Patrick
Fiwek
If you use the "Welcome Screen" (where it lists the accounts with pics), you get Task Manager when you CTRL-ALT-DEL. You can kind of lock the workstation by using WindowsKey-L (it leaves you logged-in in the background but lets others log in too). If you use classic windows logon screen (like in Win2K/NT), you get the proper security box pop-up when you CTRL-ALT-DEL. To change the way users log on, go to Control Panel >> user Accounts >> "Change the way users log on or off". Simple.

That explains why, I'm using the classic logon screen :p
pethron
If you want the default sec.box. On "administrative tools", run "Local Security something" (I'm running a swedish version), then select the "local" again. Look for something with "Interactive Logon ...Ctrl+Alt+Del", it's status probably says "not set" or something. It should say "disabled". ....this worked for me!!! (And you don't have to be amember of a domain.......) / pethron
