Programming on a Mac

Question

Hello. I'm interested in learning how to programme applications for Mac OS X and the iPhone. In the past I've used PHP, ASP, VB and some other basic languages. I've run through some OOP tutorials and read a few books but it never seems to 'stick.'

The biggest problem I'm having is with XCode/Interface builder. As such, I want to start from scratch and relearn C, then move on to Objective-C and finish off with XCode.

Does anybody have any hints and tips or recommendations for books to buy or stay away from?

All of these are pretty good.

For C:

C Programming Language

For the Mac:

Cocoa Programming for Mac OSX

Programming in Objective-C 2.0

Thank you. I bought Cocoa Programming for Mac OSX and I already have Programming in Objective-C 2.0 from the last time I tried to learn. I would have bought the other one as well, but I decided on Learn C on the Mac instead.

Kindle is going to bankrupt me. :(
