Installing Windows 7 using Boot Camp (now that it's supported)

Recommended Posts

I just had a quick question regarding Windows 7 via Boot Camp:

If I am using the wireless keyboard and wireless Magic Mouse, how would I be able to setup Windows 7? Would it be able to recognize a bluetooth keyboard and mouse? If not, what would I have to do?

Windows 7 should have built in BT drivers to at least get the keyboard installed, so then you can load the rest of the drivers. Worst comes to worst, use a USB keyboard if you have one available.

I was hoping you'd say that!

I'm sure I have a USB keyboard, but the problem would be finding it in my mess of tech junk!

You should be good to go. And just FYI, Windows 7 may have not been "support" yet by Bootcamp but it's been working reasonably well for awhile on 3.0. :)

... for most intel macs. Some iMacs and Mac Pros did not work with v3.0.

on my imac mid 2007 they worked out of the box, but they would go to sleep and take a few seconds to come back which it was very annoying, installed bootcamp and same deal, i had to go to device manager and bluetooth or something like that and mess with the settings

my first gen macbook core 2 works awesome... i know the newer modeled macs had a lot of issues though

Need some help here.

Just installed W7 ultimate, tired to install bootcamp drivers from the Mac OS X installation DVD it said x64 unsupported on this computer model so what i did was right click on bootcampx64.exe and selected troubleshoot compatibility then it worked. After restart updated to the latest release of bootcamp using the apple software update program in W7.

Ok the thing is when i use the apple software update program every time it list the new version of the bootcamp drivers even though i had updated it the newer one. Secondly i do not see the bootcamp partition in the startup disk in Mac OS X besides when i press the option key on my aluminum bt apple keyboard during restart nothing happens, i thought the boot option will be listed but there is none when i do that. Now i cant boot into W7.

Any help here is much appreciated.

Thank you.

I've been running Windows 7 32-bit with Boot Camp 3.0 on an early 2009 iMac for months now... however I cannot update to version 3.1.

I've tried everything, running as administrator, reboots, uninstalling 3.0, running firmware updates ... no success.

As soon as I click the EXE to install 3.1, it loads a little, but nothing happens.

My brother succeeded with his MacBook, and described it being a "silent installer" which just pops up a success message once it's finished. But I can't even achieve this.

Unfortunately I've already tried that with no success. It said I needed to restart my computer to complete install... but nothing happens.

I've tried running it with the Snow Leopard disc in my CD drive, which somebody on the Apple forums advised. Also not working. It's got me completely stumped.

This is my mothers business machine... so it's not like I've tweaked anything either. My next step... I'm going to try in Safe Mode with SafeMSI.
