Master1
Just curious, has anyone else noticed this. In L4D2, the computers are running Windows XP, i think MCE 05, and they have the administrator command prompt open. :)

Chasethebase Reporter Posted January 20, 2010 Reporter Share Posted January 20, 2010 I know that the computers in Counter-Strike are running what appears to be XP, but isn't as to not infringe copyright, it has HL2 open and Hammer I think. +SOOPRcow MVC Posted January 20, 2010 MVC Share Posted January 20, 2010 I know that the computers in Counter-Strike are running what appears to be XP, but isn't as to not infringe copyright, it has HL2 open and Hammer I think. If you're talking about the original counter-strike's cs_siege then yes.. That is XP with Hammer open to the source of cs_siege. I know this cause I took the screenshot. http://sooprcow.com/images/cs_siege.jpg - Thats not the screenshot in game but similar and around the same time frame. You may also notice that the infamous APC is still at the CT spawn. :) Also, in case you're wondering I did not make the map, I only worked on it slightly after the original author passed away. RIP n0th1ng :(
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted January 20, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 20, 2010 I've never noticed this in Left 4 Dead 2. I did notice something similar on a Counter-Strike: Source map though (cs_office).

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted January 21, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 21, 2010 Left 4 Dead (being based on CS:S) uses a whole bunch of CS:S props, the LCD monitor from cs_office being one of them.

I remember I was playing L4D, and I saw the XP cmd, and I even manipulated my character closer to the screen to confirm it
Master1
I remember it's in L4D, tho I forgot the campaign :( but I will get a screenshot next time I play it :) I also noticed that the computers in the offices are obviously Dell's, like the older models, I wonder if Dell got free copies of L4D
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted February 3, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 3, 2010 No Mercy (and Death Toll I think), and they're the same PC's that are in cs_office, so Dell would have gotten copies of CS:S if anything.

I haven't played CS, so I don't know, but I do remember in Death Toll I think its level 4, where you climb up and enter the building to exit on the other side, and the very first computer is the one
