c3ntury
Okay, let me explain before i get flamed for the semi-confusing title haha :) I currently only have internet on one of my PC's, now, the one with internet is going to my brother when we move house and we wont have internet obviously since well.. it takes a few weeks to transfer, test stuff out etc. Anyway, im wondering - since you can still play games on offline mode - is there a way to transfer those files with the login details to another PC.. thus allowing that PC to also login using offline mode and still play the games.. Thanks, Cameron.
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted January 25, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 25, 2010 I'm afraid not. You'd need to log in first then start the Steam client in offline mode.
Corky842
You can't backup the entire profile, but you can backup games so you won't have to re-download them on the other computer. Right-click on any game in your games list, a window pops up with all the games you can back up. It will create folders on the disk and a setup program that you can transfer to the soon-to-be offline computer via CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, an external hard drive, the network, etc.

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted January 29, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 29, 2010 . S where does steam store those offline details then? I don't know for sure. I would assume it's stored in the "ClientRegistry.blob" file (located in your Steam folder).
Smigit
Being able to move between computers by simply copying a file would defeat pretty much any point there was to having an authentication and protection systems in place to begin with. So no, I imagine it can't be easily done lest people copy one file and give offline access to whoever wants it.
