Grubster11
So right now, my PS3 is connected via an HDMI cable to my 22" dell monitor with a DVI adapter. My sound is an RCA to 3.5mm cable. I want to record and play in HD. What is the best capture card for me? (around $100)

Cupcakes
You'll need to increase your budget if you want to play in HD and capture in HD. I'd probably say go for the Blackmagic Intensity Pro, which is a PCI-E card. You'll be able to capture or stream in HD (720p is preferred as 1080p file sizes would be redonkulous.) It'd be best to use component versus HDMI as you might come across HDCP issues with your PS3. The BMI-Pro is $199 and well worth it. Video using the BMI Otherwise if you want something a little more "simple" you can opt for the Hauppauge HD-PVR which connects via USB 2.0. You won't be able to stream using the device since it encodes through it, nor will you be able to play at watch through the capture screen; There is too much lag due to only being able to use USB. The file formats it spits out as default as MT2S or MTS. You can easily convert those to MP4 with Super© or other apps of your preference. The HDPVR is about $180+ depending where you buy it. Video using the HDPVR If you go with either you're going to need an AMP to split the component signals for multiple devices. Otherwise with your meager $100 budget, you're best off sticking to a crappy Dazzle with 480i/p quality for $20.
