SimplySchizo
Not all multi-platform games are the same. Take SEGA's Bayonetta, for example. One complaint from PS3 players have been that Bayonetta has long loading times. This upload will offer the option to install the game directly on the PS3's hard disc drive. The Japanese update will include an "Install" option in the game's menu screen. It is possible to install Bayonetta, as with every Xbox 360 title, directly onto the Xbox 360's HDD. However, the Xbox 360 version of Bayonetta does not offer players this option directly through the game's menu screen. The update will be available starting January 28. While the Xbox 360 version of Bayonetta received better reviews, the PS3 version outsold the Xbox 360 version in Japan. Kotaku I may actually consider picking this up now. SimplySchizo
Also, it's unclear whether this patch is only for Japan, or a worldwide release... :/
Xilo
Also, it's unclear whether this patch is only for Japan, or a worldwide release... :/ Um... What benefit would they have for releasing a much needed patch to only one region?
notuptome2004
i played a small bit of this game on my friends PS3 and well it was down right awful the thing had framerate issue all over the place in most areas and loading times were bad so i would almost doubt tho a HDD install of the game is gonna help some of the performance issue in the game that are not related to loading times that much at all. SimplySchizo
Sega has released an update for the PlayStation 3 version of Bayonetta, addressing one of the complaints we had about the port of Platinum Games action game, frequent and lengthy load times. Those load times are much improved. The 138 MB download brings Bayonetta for the PS3 to version 1.01, offering an option to install the game to the console's hard disk. That 15-minute-long installation procedure will result in approximately 4.5 GB worth of disk space being absorbed by Bayonetta game data. It's worth the wait and the extra sandwiches made during the download and installation procedure. Promise. Load times between chapters are noticeably shorter, but it's the load times elsewhere, when Bayonetta picks up items or the player attempts to skip cut scenes, that make the install worthwhile. Unfortunately, the update to 1.01 doesn't address some of our other concerns with the PlayStation 3 version, like the weaker frame rate and texture quality. But it's an improvement over the launch version, an update owners of the PS3 version will no doubt be thankful for. Source 4.5GB and still texture & loading issues not to mention continued issues with frame rates? Man, as a long time Sega fanboy... I honestly don't know what to say. SimplySchizo
Take solace in the fact that Sega didn't do the PS3 port. No they didn't port it, but do you really expect Platinum Games to be completely or carry any fault here? At the end of the day, its the developer. I wouldn't of minded a later release.
