SMELTN
So my question is, after seeing iBook yesterday. I know a lot of people have been asking "Will iBook be available for my iPhone or my Macbook Pro?" Do we know? What do you guys think?
+John. Subscriber¹ Posted January 28, 2010 Subscriber¹ Share Posted January 28, 2010 I don't think there's any point in developing e-reader software for the MacBooks, we're already reading text on a screen, and can easily pick up a book next to us. With the iPad, it's different
BetaAddict
I don't think there's any point in developing e-reader software for the MacBooks, we're already reading text on a screen, and can easily pick up a book next to us. With the iPad, it's different I would not be so quick to assume that iBooks will be exclusive on the iPad forever. For now, it is a major selling point for the iPad. But if Apple really wants to make some major sales through iBooks, it will eventually want to integrate into iTunes and make it available across all Apple devices for syncing. For example, think about all those times that you would want to read an ebook but cannot take out the iPad.
Quillz
I think iBooks will be an exclusive to the iPad. Also, funny how Apple reused the iBook name... It went from being a series of notebook models to e-reading software.
Southern Patriot
Also, funny how Apple reused the iBook name... It went from being a series of notebook models to e-reading software. Well, they still had the trademark, and it was a fitting name for the software, so why bother with trademarking a new name?

I agree, you already own it why not use it. I think its the perfect name for it also
Growled Member Posted February 3, 2010 Member Share Posted February 3, 2010 I agree, it'd be a shame to let a decent name go to waste.
