Released on the Xbox 360 in October 2009, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City is coming to the PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows - LIVE.

Episodes from Liberty City is a compilation of the episodic downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV and includes expansion packs The Lost and Damned (originally released on Xbox LIVE in February 2009) and The Ballad of Gay Tony (originally released in October 2009).

"It's been a long time coming, but we are proud to finally deliver Episodes From Liberty City for the PC and PlayStation 3," said Sam Houser. "We appreciate the patience of our PlayStation 3 and PC fans worldwide, and we look forward to putting the games in your hands this March."

Both episodes will be available together on one disc on March 30. The PS3 version is priced at US$39.99, and the episodes are individually available on the PlayStation Network for $19.99 each.

According to the title's publisher, Games for Windows - LIVE players can enjoy 32-player multiplayer matches and an advanced video editor, and all fans will experience new songs on the updated soundtrack as featured across Liberty City's 13 diverse radio stations, alongside in-game television and Liberty City's own internet.

We are happy to announce the much anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Games for Windows® - LIVE on March 30, 2010. For the first time, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows - LIVE players will have the opportunity to experience the last two thrilling chapters of the Grand Theft Auto IV saga.

The two action packed episodes will also be available for download on the PlayStation Network and Games for Windows® LIVE on March 30, 2010. Each episode boasts the same detailed and immersive Liberty City we all know and love. Games for Windows - LIVE players can enjoy 32-player multiplayer matches and an advanced video editor, and all fans will have the chance to once again listen to the dulcet tones of Liberty City Radio.

The Lost and Damned is a dark trip through Liberty City’s seedy underbelly as outlaw biker, Johnny Klebitz, fights to keep his gang together as a rift in the gang’s leadership threatens to tear the brotherhood apart. In The Ballad of Gay Tony, players explore Liberty City’s high-end nightlife as Luis Lopez, struggling to balance the temptations of money and vice against loyalties to family and friends. Both episodes feature a slew of new vehicles and weapons, and each episode adds new activities including cage fighting, gang wars and BASE jumping.

Hope they go up on UK PSN as well, I'm not buying the BD. This will finally convince me to finish GTA4.

It was only a matter of time :shifty:

An official Playstation Magazine said it was coming a while back, but of course no one believed it then.

When you understand how the 50m loan worked, it was pretty obvious it was just going to be timed.

Announcement came out of nowhere but that's more because a retailer leaked the details.

Now, tbh, I'm a total GTA dork, but I'm not sure I care that much, the game will be 2 years old by then. I'd rather see LAN and Agent come sooner. Only reason I care is just to point out "loan" and "timed exclusivity".

The hype has definitely worn off for me. I played GTA4 for weeks on my mates Xbox and really got into it, so I'm not too fussed about this now on PS3. Maybe in a year or two they will bundle it all on one BD and sell it for cheapness. Platinum would be nice :) I'll pick it up then.

do i have to install the earlier game and install it lika add on or do i just have to install it from the liberty city disk please reply

if you buy the PSN version separately, then it'll require previous gta4 installation. If you buy the disc version with the 2 games combined, then you don't need previous gta4 installation.
