Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Announced for PS3 and PC

Recommended Posts

We know, I think we both just cba disk swapping period. If the games just sitting on your XMB list you are more enticed to jump on it for a few hours.GTA is never something I can sit and play 9 hours in a row.

Also leading from HDD is much faster, especially without a disk check.

Even if you buy from PSN, you will still need the original GTA4 disc...

Episodes from Liberty City delayed for PC and PS3

The PC and PS3 versions of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City have been delayed for two weeks due to a last minute game submission request from Sony to edit some of the in-game radio, television, and internet content.

Even though this is a PS3 issue, Rockstar has delayed both versions of the game so that "everyone can experience multiplayer simultaneously, take part in online events together, be on level ground on leaderboards, etc."

The new release date is April 13th in North America and April 16th in Europe.

Wonder what's getting removed, and why only from the PS3 version. Not too bothered, as long as the missions and story for each of them are staying the same. The delay is actually a good thing for me, comes out when my final year project for uni is handed in now.

Dan Hauser said it has nothing to do with ESRB (or similar PAL ratings) or content... maybe it's Sony saying "stop using Gamespy for multiplayer".

I bought TBOGT and thought it was pretty good. I have been getting much better performance since the patch. I used to play with shadows off and now I get the same performance as before with shadows on high, the shadows also look far better now.

is this like the 360 versions where you can play this stand alone for PC? I never picked up the episodes for my 360 (have the original game) and i would rather pick it up for my PC...

anyone know?

Bought the download versions, mainly because I can then get all the radio stations.

Well you miss out on the exclusive disc stations so you actually get less if you've basically completed GTA4 and heard all the stations anyway.

Downloadable versions just let you use GTA4 radio stations.

I've actually noticed worse performance since the patch.

I've also upgraded my 9800 GT 512MB card to a 5850 1GB, so maybe ATi cards don't run as well? I know the game is mostly CPU intensive though, so that's what's confusing me.

It's very CPU intensive yes, but you still need a good video card.
