+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 29, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted January 29, 2010 Last night (or this morning) someone who has access to Twitter over at Q Entertainment was looking to see if PS3 users were interested in some Rez HD action. What would a game like Rez HD sell for on PSN? $15? This is no indication that it's happening, but we're researching if its feasible. Most people seemed to be alright with that price, while others were asking why PSN users would have to pay a $5 premium compared to 360 users (The game launched for 800 MSPT). It seems they would need to sell an insane amount of copies @ $9.99 to make a profit. …After Sega's cut etc. We'd have to sell a lot of copies to even break even, and we could always drop a price, but never raise it. if we did it, it would not be a huge profit most likely and unfortunately we're not big enough to do things for fun. we dont wanna rip anyone off but we also dont wanna go bankrupt trying to appease the fanbase you know? Well if they could release it on PSN with uncompressed audio, this could in fact be the definitive version of Rez. Don't get your hopes up though as this is merely just them asking if there is interest, no plans to port the game over have been made at this time. So what do you think? Would you buy Rez HD for $14.99 on PSN? Source: http://www.psnstores...-rez-hd-to-psn/ With uncompressed audio it would be quite sweet.
Hedon
Seems they must assume that the PSN version wouldn't sell as many as the XBLA version. That, or they feel that since the game is now considered "older", some people may no longer be interested in purchasing the title. Interesting stuff.
