Do you plan to buy iPad

Well, I have nothing "i" at all(not even quick time) so I wont be getting one of these.

An interest in technology and a general appreciation for Apple technology means I'd like to try it, but frankly theres about a 0.1% chance of me buying one. Just can't see how I'd use it. My iPhone (and whatever I replace it with in March) covers my technological needs when I'm on the move, the only caveat being that screen size and a silly little keyboard is sometimes a major pain - but with the tradeoff being that I'd have to carry an entirely seperate and much larger device around as an alternative, then I'm just not even slightly tempted. I'd just buy a notebook or netbook FFS.

If I have some spare money, I fancy one at the time and the consensus on the final product from trusted impartial reviewers is positive... sure, I'm willing to give it a try. I would possibly wait until a revision though.

The iPad is about as magical and revolutionary as the idea of fitting a car with wheels. Gotta love the hype that Apple's marketing machine generates

i'll consider it when it serves most of the following purposes for me:

- built in dictionary the way OSX has it (i use it a lot for reading ebooks...it's my main source for improving my vocabulary)

- allows pen/stylus input so i can scribble notes on it (you know, like a notePAD)

- a good data plan from my telephone company (rogers)

- multitasking (i'm willing to bet that this will be implemented eventually)

the flash thing doesn't bother me all that much 'coz i don't really use these things for games...

i'm part of the crowd that feels that this thing will grow on people eventually and will be a late hit for apple in spite of all the naysayers. i remember many being disappointed with iphone's hardware and price but people still bought it...same with their laptops earlier and what not. part of the reason is that 3rd party developers will make this device increasingly useful in some say. given that it's a "pad"...one of the main features would have to be the ability to handwrite...that'll bring over A LOT of the student population...an example being: lectures from itunes U, textbooks from the publishers, student notes on the tablet...combine all 3 in one device...it'd be simply great.

so i'll get this 'eventually' when it comes to canada, probably 2nd gen.

If it ran OSX fully, then yes. As it stands, no.

That would have definitely have been a selling point for me.

A touch-supported version of OS X that I could customize and download whatever applications I want for would make it a little more worth the price in my opinion. It would be a great way to try OS X without having to spend your whole life's savings .

I just don't like how they slapped the iPhone/iPod Touch OS on a gadget with a larger screen, changed a few applications to be more friendly for the new gadget's resolution, and called it revolutionary. That's not even worthy of the word revolutionary in the slightest bit in my opinion.

Do you plan to buy iPad as soon as it will be available in the stores or you will wait until next generation or for OS 4.0.

I am decided to buy this device as I am a huge Apple fan but still I thing that there is something "magical" as their described it. I see it as very useful.

Share you opinion :)

You just described the perfect apple fan. Getting their new product because they produced it.

I see this product as a massive flop. I have no intensions of getting one. Nothing interest me on it.

I have an iPhone, and LOVE it, but see the iPad as being useless

I am. Reason? I think it would be handy, my alienware for gaming/coding the iPad jailbroken and I can then play music, browse the web and type my homework up casually. Perfect device for me.

Just not at the same time, you know there is NO multitasking, right?

I'm getting one - the cheap one. It's not a mobile device, it's a comfortable device to read books, surf the web and maybe watch a few movies and listen to music.

Why would you want to read books, surf or watch a movie on a 1024x768 4:3 screen?

At least you could do more than one task with 4 ipods/phones glued together

Exactly, aren't these new devices supposed to help us get things done faster? How can I do that if I can only do them one at a time?

This is what the site should read.

Brilliant.

And, look... If the second- or third-generation iPad model turns out to be a real winner, then I'll eat my words and maybe consider one. But Apple would really have to get a LOT right in future hardware revisions to warrant a purchase not just from me, but from a lot of people.
