Wannes
Hey, In Apple mail I've set my mails as Verdana 12pt when I type a new message. I suppose my receiver should receive my mail as Verdana 12pt however they read my message in Times New Roman. I send my mail as RTF format and my receivers have HTML-mail enabled. Anyone else encountering this problem? Thanks in advance. Regards, W.
furby
Are you sure they're not receiving it formatted? Seems like a silly question but I see my mail go out formatted and then the (some) replies comes back and my original text is Times New Roman. I just assume it's their client or mailserver stripping it. Is it all the e-mails you send?

Remember, some people who have old computers, old version of Windows, or running under different operating system such as Linux, that they may not have that font you use. Some people may have set their favorite font as default in reading and reply modes. For example, I sent you an email with my font format, then you opened my mail, and read it with your font because you do not have that font I use or you have change the font settings for reading mode. My dad uses big font and send email to me.. I set small font as default for reading mode. Understand now? The Evil Overlord 1 Share
Wannes
The font is Verdana so I'm sure about 99.99% of the people have the font. This happens with my mails send to several Windows PC with HTML turned on. It will probably be something in their settings then.

Yeah, it's a well documented bug in Apple mail that has ALWAYS existed. Apple don't seem to care about it. All emails from Apple mail to PC users will always display in Times New Roman, even if you send in Rich text or HTML format. Even with a brand new iMac sending to Windows 7/Outlook 2007 it does the same, Apple Mail is the worst email application I've ever had to use, Entourage is the solution. Elliott
Mail.app works best when sending to Mail.app. I just use Mail in plain text mode. I see no reason for all the fanciness. It just makes mail harder to read (in my opinion) and confuses automated systems that parse and display mail.
