LukeWard7
I turned my PS3 on this morning and it wouldn't let me sign on. It was just giving me the error message telling me that I have been signed out of PSN (even though I was never signed in). I have tried everything including restarting my router and modem, changing the IP the PS3 uses to connect with. Yet both of my brothers Xbox 360's work, so does my laptop, iPhone and my dad's PC. Can anyone help?
stereopixels
Does your router have a firewall? Check that it's not blocking your PS3 - also you didn't say what connection method you're using - wired or wireless? Have you tried running your PS3 through the automatic connection setup? It will run a test at the end for a connection and should let you know if it can get connected to the Internet itself.
LukeWard7
I am connecting wirelessly and I have ran it through the automatic connection setup, it passes the IP and Internet stage but fails on PSN. Edit: I have turned my router firewall off months ago, it was working that off ages ago.
stereopixels
If your PS3 passed the connection test, and you can browse the web on it, then it sounds like it's not a problem your end - sometimes I also can't connect to the PSN network - although it tends to be temporary and when I retry later it works again. It's a real pain because without it you can't play online or play most PS Store-purchased games. Have you tried connecting again since this morning? LukeWard7
It doesn't pass the connection test fully, it just manages to obtain an IP then it passes the "Internet" one, then fails on PSN. Yeah, I have tried to connect ALL day since about 12 this afternoon til now, so its been off for about 9 and a half hours. I can see where your coming from though, because like you say it passes the Internet test. Not only that but my laptop, iPhone and both Xbox's are able to connect wirelessly and they work fine. Has yours ever been off for this long though? Also a point to make, all of my friends on PSN live in the same area as me (Norwich) and they are able to connect fine? stereopixels
Do you get any other info? An error message with an error code? It might help us work out what's wrong. Edit: If you don't get an error, you could try and force the PS3 to connect to PSN manually - there's a setting in the PS3 options I think to disable auto sign in for PSN - do that, then try connecting to the PSN network manually and see if an error appears then. LukeWard7
I get the error message that says "An error has occured. you've been signed out from the PS Network (80710092)." But the thing I don't understand is, its saying ive been signed out, but i was never signed in in the first place, if you know what I mean? And I've tried signing in manually which doesn't work either.
DPyro
Use OpenDNS: DNS 1: 208.67.220.220 DNS 2: 208.67.222.
LukeWard7
Tried that already, no luck though. Also tried using the 4.4.4.2 and 4.4.4.1 servers. Just to let you know its back and working now though, down for a good 10 hours. Havn't a clue why, but thanks for all the help.
SimplySchizo
My Dns is set to 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 Try creating another user and registering it on the psn. see what happens. Also try Disabling Media Server Connection.
LukeWard7
Really? Maybe i was suspended then? I did look up the code, people were suggesting changing my DNS servers (which I did do and it didnt work). What sort of thing do they suspend you for? The last thing I done was play a mate on FIFA the night before?

The last thing I done was play a mate on FIFA the night before? At first I thought so, but the code doesnt suggest that. It just may be a server-side update/maintenance. Try the ablove suggestions... Also try unplugging your router, ps3 for 30secs or so. Have you tried creating another User and accessing the store ? That's a taddle-tail sign of suspension if you'e able to on new accnt but not on the older one.. Suspension notices/errors dont show immediately after theve taken effect. Not to mention emails dont go out till a few days after suspension as to why it was suspended/banned.
Cupcakes
Try disabling Media Server Connection under Settings>Network Settings Also have you rebooted your modem and/or router yet? If you've tried resetting your router and/or changing your settings back to 'automatic' you might have to resort to this: Put your PS3 into standby (red light on) Push the red button and hold; It will beep 3x, then take your finger off and it will go back into standy You will have several options to chose from. You should try rebuilding the database; Worst case is if this does not reslve it, you can try a reformat. http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=psnetwork&message.id=63163&query.id=107115#M63163 PS3 users are pretty ignorant though. Some say the error 80710092 means the PSN network is down whereas some attribute it to an issue with the router.
SimplySchizo
Suggesting to format is out of the question. There's absolutely no reason what-so-ever to wipe the hdd over this. Worse case the server's are down and he's out for a few hours.
Cupcakes
As far as ignorance goes.. where exactly does it state that error code means the network is down ? Also, suggesting to reformat is out of the question. There's absolutely no reason what-so-ever to wipe the hdd over this. Worse case the server's are down and he's out for a few hours. /proud ignorant ps3 user Aside from taking my statement out of context, I'm referring to those that have specifically said what the error code actually means. Has nothing to do with a general PS3 user, okay? If you google the error code you will have thousands upon thousands of results explaining the error code and how many have this issue. A said a format was a last option not a recommendation to do. However, I did say to rebuild the database not reformat as an option to try to see if that might resolve the issue. Like I said, some users have exclaimed that the error code means that the PSN network is down while others have attributed the error code to being an issue with the router (which is where my ignorant statement comes into play.) However, the PSN network being unavailable is not the same error code as the user listed in his post, which means it is more than likely not an issue with the PSN network. The error code itself is explained as: 80710092 - "An error has occured. you've been signed out from the Playstation network" - (Most likely connection dropped.) source The few suggestions have been what I listed in my prior post as they have given other PS3 users positive results. EDIT: Just some extra suggestions for trying to fix it: If You Can't Connect to SCEA Game Servers or NetworkIf you can access the Internet but not our game servers or network, it may be a firewall issue (see firewall port numbers firewall port numbers for more information). SimplySchizo
Yea I reread after post. Also there is no definitive explanation for the code. Anyways, a format is not called for. I stand by my statement. 80710092 - "An error has occured. you've been signed out from the Playstation network" and that notice is also given when you have a temp suspension, and when you have a perm ban. "which has absolutely jack to do with a router issue. or any other issue requiring a format for that matter" OP: BEST thing to do is call sony. Eliminate all doubts. Cupcakes
That is pure fodder. That error code has nothing to do with suspensions and/or bans. If a user is banned and/or suspended this is what is seen/shown: You cannot use PlayStation Network with this account. (8002A227)
LukeWard7
I don't know if you saw but I said its working now. I'm thinking maybe it was a short suspension? Tried to get on at 12 o'clock this afternoon and only now worked about half 11 tonight. Edit: Just saw the above post. Havn't got a clue as to why it wouldn't let me sign in for a good 10 hours.. I know this is the US URL but the same concept applies: http://www.us.playstation.com/Support You should check the PSN network status next time you're unable to connect. That way you can make sure the network didn't go down for some reason. Just to eliminate that out :p

The error was updated and thus I called Sony for verification. Another day after that, is when I got a notice via email as to why I was banned. Anyways, Glad your back on Luke. Sounds like a temp ban? You'll probably get an email in 2-3 days time with reason if indeed it was. An ignorant ps3 user would've formatted. lol

soniqstylz
Came into this thread late, but I had the same error, and it was a router issue. I changed routers, shifted to a dual-band router and a game adapter, have only ever dropped the connection once since then (spring time) Cupcakes 1 Share
