Sounds great to me. Some much-needed improvements in the settings and how they implement the suit's power system. Can't wait to see how it plays.

Enjoyed the first one and the beat 'em up style gameplay, so I'm definitely excited for this even if it destroys my computer (frame rate wise). Are they still going with that city style landscape?

I'm somewhat unimpressed by CryENGINE 3's graphics. It looks like a beefed up version of CryENGINE 2.

Anything Crysis or Crytek I am 100% down with :)

SAME HERE. Love there games and work.

Some of that is because they plan on making Crysis 2 for Consoles. But i still believe it looks amazing.

I plan on getting this release date.

That means a larger customer base for Crytek as you supposedly don't need OTT hardware anymore

While I agree, nothing still has really touched CryEngine 2 IMO, so a beefed up version that hopefully runs better is cool with me.

Awesome it is set in the city, I had no clue.

^ What happens at the end of the first again? I beat it quite awhile ago I can't remember. I just remember floating around in their alien ship which was pretty ritarded.

Pretty cool being in a city. While I've always been a fan of the jungle Crysis kinda ruined that as it didn't have the same feel as Far Cry. That being said I'm happy with the move. Running around the city doing those super jumps n ****s. That'll be sweet. I love Crytek they are easily my favourite studio right now. They have yet to let me down. Only shame is their games require great hardware to enjoy them, but I'm glad they don't downgrade the quality just to get a wider audience.

Can't wait, crysis and crysis warhead were great games. And They really don't need to do anything major with the engine because ALREADY have the best looking game engine out there. If they can give people better performance that will be great! and maybe people can run it on even higher settings and smoother :)

I agree, CryENGINE 2 is still impressive. I'm unimpressed because I thought the jump in visual quality would be at least 75% of the jump from CryENGINE 1 to CryENGINE 2. I guess I'll be happy as long as it runs good. And what kind of PC gamer would say no to DX11 graphics? :p

What's the point in additional jumps when we know the internet whining will be deafening? Might as well tweak and improve upon an engine that hasn't been beat yet.

And what kind of PC gamer would say no to DX11 graphics? :p

The kind of gamer that knows what it brings, each DirectX increment is always being touted as something "Uhh ohh" when it's basically just a few

graphical features that most games aren't even using.

Well, this time around it's major features that could potentially be used in a lot of PC games (if NVIDIA and ATI really push DX11 gaming). Multi-threaded rendering and hardware tessellation, two features that could drastically improve image quality and perhaps even performance.

Could and should but let's paddle that boat when it's actually in the water - Every time new technology is entering the playing field we can usually sit around for months and months jerking off and play chess before something happens and developers take proper advantage of it.

I agree, I've played so many games in 2009/2010 that still don't look better than crysis

I hope the city enviroment is destructable too.

I think it will be fairly destructible, like the original Crysis and Crysis Warhead. I'm pretty sure Crysis 2 will be using an in-house physics engine so both NVIDIA and ATI users will be able to use it. And I'm glad it's done this way. PhysX is good and all but it's restricted to NVIDIA so that leaves ATI users in the dark.

DirectX 9 was widely adopted almost as soon as it was announced. DirectX 10 and DirectX 10.1 were both hit-or-miss because ATI and nVidia both pussyfooted around when it came to deciding what was and wasn't "important" for consumers. nVidia basically stopped 10.1, for instance, from gaining any traction.
