+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted February 2, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted February 2, 2010 A demo of PixelJunk Shooter's been released on the PS Store. Right now, it's only available on the Hong Kong store, but logic states it'll be coming elsewhere in the normal update on Thursday. It's only 55Mb to download. Catch the first level from it here, in case you need to see what it's like before playing the demo. Check out our recently published interview with Q Games here. Thanks, PSNStores. AbandonedTrolley
Good to know - shall take a look at this over the weekend. Jimmy, full game is on the second share account I set up, bought it on release :)
Plarkster
At last! Hope it doesn't take long to come to the UK store as this has been on my maybe list since it came out. It really bugs me that a lot of games don't have demos on PSN. ALL games should have a demo like on XBL - I'd certainly buy more games on there if I could try them out first. Plarkster
Are you looking on the Hong Kong store as per the original post? Will hopefully be on other stores soon.
Minifig
This was posted on the second.. I assumed that meant it'd come out on the fourth,....
Jimmy0
Jimmy, full game is on the second share account I set up, bought it on release :) Ah I see. I never actually re-added the share account onto my refurb'd PS3 because I felt it a little unfair to take up a spot when whilst I am away at University I don't actually play on my PS3 (well I don't this year anyway, I shall be next year). Pygmy_Hippo
It really bugs me that a lot of games don't have demos on PSN. ALL games should have a demo like on XBL - I'd certainly buy more games on there if I could try them out first. Same here. I have next to no PSN games after buying Calling All Cars and Pain, both of which (IMO) were bloody awful. Compare that to the tons of XBL games that I bought on a whim because I enjoyed faffing around in the demo for a couple of minutes. I really can't understand how some people believe that PSN is as good, if not better, than XBL. (I do appreciate PSN using proper money rather than points though) Having said that I do own Pixeljunk Shooter and it's my favourite game on the PS3 :)
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted February 6, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted February 6, 2010 XBLA demands demos as mandatory does it not? PSN doesn't, so naturally some devs choose not to for the fear of people not buying the game coming off of a demo, or for example how the **** do you do a demo of Flower? Double edged sword, if you keep in check with your reviews you should be okay, but on the other hand it's letting projects get green lighted on PSN that are definitely a lot more adventurous than what's on XBLA. Plus you have the sharing account aspect if you know a few people, pay less ;)
Sethos
Reviews can never, ever in a million years be a decent substitute for trying out games yourself. Demos should definitely be mandatory.
