firequantum
Hey guys, I've ordered myself a new 13" MacBook Pro, upgrading from my current 2007 13" MacBook. I am using my own hard drive in the MacBook, which has an installation of OSX from the retail copy of Snow Leopard and a Boot Camp installation of Windows 7 Professional. I am going to be moving the hard drive from my current MacBook to my new MacBook Pro but am wondering if the current installs of both OSX and Windows will work in the new system or do I need to reinstall them? Thanks for any help, Robert
Shadrack
Will the machine come with a smaller hard drive or something? If not, I would just use the settings and file transfer wizards for both OS to get your "stuff" onto the new computer. But to answer your question, I believe OS X won't have any problems. Windows you will probably need to reinstall. Windows will (at the very least) throw a fit about activation.
Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted February 2, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 2, 2010 As long as you have the latest updates on each they should be fine.
firequantum
Thanks for the replies guys, shall put my current drive in (when the new MacBook Pro arrives) and see what happens! To answer your question Shadrack, the new MacBook Pro has a 160GB drive however I'm currently using a 500GB drive in my MacBook.
