a2232
Is there any application to optimize Win2k boot time like the Bootvis.exe for XP? I'd like to speed up Win2k's boot time which (for me) is a lot slower than XP. Merry Xmas

grimman
i'm yet to find one, and never mind those thoughtless messages, we both know win2k kicks xp ass :D Originally posted by a2232 Is there any application to optimize Win2k boot time like the Bootvis.exe for XP? ionfusion
Don't know of one, but Win2K is a great OS just like XP. However, I get the idea that XP will get the better updates first.
kintamanate
I know for windows ME/98 there is a start>run command calls "msconfig" to configure the stuff in boot up. is there something similar in 2k? I say that to boot up quicker, disable what you dont need in the task bar from loading. I find that anti-virus software take the longest to boot. sunnyy4
I suggest taking out any unnecessary startup items and disabling unnecessary services... not to mention updating Windows to SP2... that gave my Win2K installation some speed

Krome
hehehehe My Win2k takes approximately 10-15 minutes booting up... :) Wanna know why? I promote it to be a Domain Controller... :) And it's not running in real mode... it's running in mix mode... Everytime I boot up the server, I have to wait about 15 minutes or so for everything to come online... :)
