Project Needlemouse is Sonic the Hedgehog 4!

When I saw Sonic 4 I was like "kickass!"

then i saw the little Episode 1 at the bottom and i was like

"****"

they are making this game coming from the wrong mindset they are coming from the mindset that hey we need to milk a 2d sonic by way of several episodes soooooo we will try and make a kickass game, but we will keep some stuff back so that we can dole out the goodness over several games!

Massively excited for this. Ok so it might be episodic, but it might almost work out better you know. You buy episode 1, discover they've made a hash of it, and you save your money and don't fork out full whack. Obviously, I hope that doesn't happen but....

I can't get excited for this. Sonic 2006 was meant to be an epic reboot of the franchise and it was terrible. Sonic Unleashed was meant to be "a return to 2D roots" and that got slated.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Night time levels would of been perfect if Knuckles were instead of Werehog.

Makes you wonder if Sonic Team thought about it.

The other thing that annoyed me muchly, was the graphical quality of the Werehog :s, it looked soooo bad!

My thoughts as well. This is definitely one of those games where i wait for more gameplay/hands on reviews before i get excited. I guess the recent Sonic games have turned me into more of a pessimist.

Looks good, shame it's not coming to PC :(

Hopefully Sonic 2 HD will still see the light of day.

I have to say I miss the old Sonic 3 sprite.

I always disliked the Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles sprite, I always loved the Sonic 2 sprite best.

Episodic content makes me haz a sad.

Just looks like an HD version of the first games, which yeah were great, but as others have said, Ill be happier when it's out.

You know what was weird?

I was in the exact same position when I bought Sonic 3, I was telling myself "Why would they change sonic like that?" because my first Sonic was Sonic 2 and I absolutely fell in love with that game (still am). After a few years I sort of saw the direction Sonic Team AM8(att) went with the sprites. IMO it's the most mature form of Sonic that should exist.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles technically was episodic since Sonic 3 was released earlier in 1994 and then came Sonic & Knuckles later on.

I wasn't impressed with Sonic 3 by itself, but when I got Sonic & Knuckles I was like "woah.. this is seriously epic.."

Gamespot

Watching this trailer made me feel like a kid again, I had soo many good times playing the originals! But from the looks on it, this game kind of looks like a remake of sonic 1. Lets hope not. What do you guys think?

I'm glad theyre going back to 2D sonic. I'd prefer if it they dropped the 3D Sonic or atleast used a shader to make his feet look like they go in a circle.

damn, no PC release.

Actually, if you look at the end of the trailer there is a "?" mystery-platform. Either Sega are reentering the console wars or they will announce a PC release, either way it's :woot: :woot: :woot:

PS : it's 43s in the video, between Wii Ware and Sonic Team logos.
