[E3] Fallout: New Vegas (update, Release Date!)

Recommended Posts

They put an embargo on this? Silly devs. Needs some gameplay. Curious to see how they have electricity.

Agreed. I'd like to see some gameplay as well.

Back in Megatron they had electricity, there's also electricity in all of the vaults.

Two scans that have appeared, looks like the info was right then.

There was a third, but the link wasn't working.

:o

I take it your weren't a fan of FO3?

No I enjoyed it but the Oblivion engine looks like arse and the AI scripting isn't as good as they make out.

I agree, Fallout 3 was ruined by the shoddy game engine for me, INCREDIBLY glitchy npc's, generally last gen graphics, awful, horrible animations. I wont be getting this unless significant improvements to the engine are made.

I am still ****ed at fallout 3, I was pretty far into the game and was playing the alien dlc, on the ship near the end there is an npc that is supposed to open a door for me, no other way to get around it, all the npc's just walk around in circles in front of the door and dont do anything. I even used the console to open the door but it didnt work because the npc had to do it. I had no backup save and my game was completely f'd and crap like this happens all the time in Bethesda's games.

I've finally finished FO3 (LTTP), so I'm ready for New Vegas. However I may end up waiting for a GOTY edition, as ~?30 of DLC is not something I intend on paying for on top of the game itself.

I only hope that they overcome the performance issues that plague FO3. It's easily the poorest performing game I've ever played, with random freezes, getting stuck in VATS until death, even a few complete game exits back to the XMB (the first time was a major WTF moment, and it made me worry that my BD drive is on the blink).

yeah its certainly not the greatest engine in the world, I just find them to be fun games really...I have got many hours out of FO3 even after completion I just go roaming and its good fun :D

Interesting... I had absoutely no issues with the STEAM version. No lock-ups, no quests glitched out on me.

I'll definitely be getting Las Vegas.

Its exactly the same engine as before for Fallout 3, that's just a concept image unfortunately.

Yeah, there are hot-keys and auto-saves designed to help prevent this -.-' :p

You know I'm playing through Alpha protocol now. I'm decided already: if Chris Avellone is working on this in some kind of design capacity- The combat will be clunkier than ever and the animations will rival that of a puppet with strings. But it'll be the first 'proper' sequel to Fallout 2. :p
