MMike6
y'hello everyone. after apple issued official support for windows7 via bootcamp i went out and bought windows7 home premium 64bit at amazon. i made sure i wasnt buying an update version but rather the full version. did resize the partition on my late 2007 imac (2.4ghz 4gb ram) sucessfully and rebooted into a black screen reading the following: 1. 2. Please choose the CD-ROM: couldnt choose anything so i got an old usb keyboard and mouse but that didnt help either. did give apple care a call. after an hour their official response was: we dont support oem products. the problem being the oem installer expects a normal pc to connect to the sata drives. and that only works with the retail version. you have to go out and buy another full retail copy of the product. i thought the retail and oem just differ for support and not in regards of the disc contents itself. so my question is: is there any workaround to install an systembuilder/ oem version of windows7 at all? on a side note, included is the installation disc and windows7 oem preinstallation kit dvd. this one boots into a shell. at this point the disc could be change to the installation disc to start the normal process. thing is, im not able to eject the preinstallation disc since 'f12' isnt working in a cmd-shell. also, amazon is again very sorry but cannot take the oem version back so i can buy the retail one. help would be appreciated! thanks, timothy
