Like the design, but honestly you're not going to get far. There are many social networks out there already.

Try something different :)

There's a typo/grammer error on the "lovegigacast" page...

During the sign up you can select a beautiful adress of your profile

Not too bad... but I gotta agree with others. Far too many social networking sites out there.

Well actually, we are preparing some great new functions which could be really competitive also for big players such as Facebook or MySpace.

Please, try to consider it also from other point of view e.g. what do you like about GigaCast and what you don't or you think it should be change.

Thank you

What I don't like is there are hundreds of other, more established, social networking websites. Most of my friends who do that sort of thing are on Facebook and/or Myspace. Why would I join a site that none of my friends are on and offer nothing that none of the others do? (note, I clearly don't care much for privacy of my info as I'm on Facebook).

In short. The market's saturated. Social network sites have to have people on them to be social - yours doesn't have anyone I know. No point in me giving another company lots of my personal info - even if you do promote privacy

I agree with the people that are saying you're late. Unless you get a celebrity to use your site publicly and his fans jump on the bandwagon it probably won't catch on. Also, your logo resembles the MySpace logo too much in my opinion.

I was going to write that.

It's a complete rip-off, the stick figures are exactly the same as the one's from MySpace logo, just with a different placement.

Since the logo is the first thing I noticed when I opened your website, I didn't bother to further look at it.

Your logo is a visual representation of what your site stands for, it's your IDENTITY - and by the looks of it, it tells me that your site is just an un-original, low-budget copy of a famous social site. Why would anyone want to use that?

"Reasons why you are* gonna love GigaCast" It looked odd without the "are" in there, like maybe loosely grammatically it could work but it just seems better if you say "are gonna love GigaCast"

Fixed. Thanks for suggestion.

Others: Ok , I understand that current big guy in the social networking is facebook, but you have to consider the fact, before facebook there was MySpace, and nobody even thought that MS could be beaten. But first, I am making GigaCast as a hobby, for fun. Fact is that I really enjoy to create this network. So, please, try to be less offensive, I just want to hear you opinion what you miss there, what you like there or what should be changed.

Thaks

On your signup page it says "Sign up is quick and fast. After filling up your details you will have complete access to GigaCast network."

Quick and fast have essentially the same meaning, so I would advise maybe changing it to "Sign up is quick and easy" or something along those lines. And change "filling up your details" to "filling in your details"

So far no one has been offensive to you - people just gave their honest opinion. Brutal, maybe. Honest, definitely. Offensive would be if someone said "Dude, your site sucks and looks like sh***t".

We already stated what needs to be changed so people will actually get interested in your website.

Amongst 137218741897418247 social websites, yours have a little chance for success because of the things we all pointed our for you:

1) your logo is a rip-off of one of the most famous social websites on this planet. That says a lot about your seriousness you put in your project. You basically don't have your own identity, you copied it from someone else - that's the impression people will get when open the home page. It doesn't look that you put any effort at all before you put this online.

2) your site lacks of something new that will bring people on it. It has exactly the same features as all other & better established similar websites.

Yeah true, but that fail comment was I think really inappropriate. Anyway, I don't really know how many social websites there are, and I really don't care. I just try to do my best, but you have to understand that for now there is just me and few other guys. If you or anybody else wanna contribute somehow, please feel free to contact me.

1) If you meant those three "dudes" well, while designing the logo I just wanted to symbolize somehow that this is about people. I have seen many networks with user icons and there were established simulantelously with myspace. So, calling it rip off is not really on the place. And also the logo has it's own unique design as you can see those color bubles and those dudes are also in one yellow bubble.

2) Right, actually I am preparing one really huge feature, and I really haven't seen something like that around on the internet, it is not really unique but I think that is really inovative, but unfortunately development of this feature will take few months of preparing, developing and mainly testing as it is really huge and I need to use powerful server to handle that.

Actually, it is on the place, because the ratio of the "dudes" is EXACTLY, pixel by pixel same as the one's from myspace logo. You used the same "dudes', you just placed them in a different layout.

That's like taking the "Nike" swoosh logo, flipping it vertically and saying that it's your logo, it just resembles the one from Nike.

Here's a comparation:

I know you are on your own making this site, but visual identity is something that you had to think about FIRST, before even designing the website or tweaking some template. Logo is something you will be recognized about. You could have used different type of "dude" or a human silhouete to make it slightly different, but you've just used the myspace dude.

Eh, don't let the naysayers get you down -- with a little work, you can turn this into a site with purpose.

You just need the right target audience. I'd forget about trying to be a mainstream social network like facebook or myspace; there are far too many clones of that already.

Instead, I'd try to make the focus on a certain demographic like musicians for example. You could let it be a place where musicians connect, and share music, events, etc.

That's just an example. Do a little research and be creative, good luck!;)
