Sethos
Hey, Guess it's time to ask about this issue which has plagued me ever since the upgrade; random line breaks! I can write a post that looks perfectly normal, I can preview it but as soon as I post it, it looks completely borked. Random lines have been moved down, random breaks in the middle of a sentence etc. and I always find myself editing my posts to correct it. I might have narrowed it down to size of the page. Say I make a post in my browser, window is full-screen on my 24" and basically, when I post and minimize it'll looked messed and if I fix it, it'll happen again if the window gets smaller ( 19" ). Some of my posts look really odd on this work monitor and probably to other members as well. This post for an example looked okay when I wrote it but here at work, on my 19" in Fullscreen it looks completely messed up; https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/857068-official-battlefield-bad-company-2/page__st__675__p__592212410entry592212410 Has the way resizing is being handled been changed? Because it's really annoying that I have to write my posts in the smallest window possible to ensure everybody can view it properly.
DaveLegg Developer Posted February 8, 2010 Developer Share Posted February 8, 2010 Strange bug. Could you check for me if you're using the RTE editor or the standard one? The option is here: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?app=core&module=usercp
Steven P. Administrators Posted February 8, 2010 Administrators Share Posted February 8, 2010 It has to do with a few things, one being that the font size when you're posting is different, there's no poster info bit when typing a post and the preview also doesn't show a poster info bit. So yes, it will look slightly different and put linebreaks where you otherwise didn't expect or see in the preview. The RTE will add paragraph tags <p> and linebreaks automatically. Sethos
Strange bug. Could you check for me if you're using the RTE editor or the standard one? The option is here: http://www.neowin.ne...e&module=usercp That was disabled, so by enabling that I should be golden from here on out?
Sethos
Just as a heads up, it's still there after enabling RTE.
