Why do you game?

I agree with you. It's like most forms of entertainment; an escape from reality. But it's fun and challenging without being too stressful (for the most part)

Yeah video games are a good source of entertainment. I love First Person Shooters :D

I always found it interesting when I tell some girls that I play games they giggle, but if I ask them what they do in their free time I get something like... watching TV or reading. I'd rather be getting headshots than watching Law and Order... that's all I'm sayin' haha.

Escapism. Apart from that, it's a complete waste of time if people just use it to fill a void in their life since it doesn't affect anything that happens in the offline world.

/wants to argue that gaming should be used to help students learn better in elementary and high schools since it uses a reward system for completing objectives (see Modern Warfare 2 and xbox 360 achievements)

FPS-Be better than most others

RPG-Storyline

Entertainment, Something to do.

Its better then doing drugs or getting drunk. Ill rather get headshots then smashed.

What about both =O Halo 3 can be turned into the decent drinking game.... /nerd

It's simply an addiction for me.

I kicked every other bad habit in my life (cigarettes, alcohol and drugs) figured this was the best one to keep.

I grew up on video games as well so... Pong is where it all started.

I game for entertainment. TV is so dull these days, especially UK shows. I only watch a few series, that count to probably 4-5 hours per week. I prefer games with a nice story, or a good multiplayer game to play with mates, but that's getting rarer as the all have families now (bloody kids :p )
