+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted February 9, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted February 9, 2010 Get the balloons out and put on your party hats because Forza 3, the premier Xbox 360 racing sim has sold a whopping 2 million copies since its release in October. To celebrate this, Turn 10 have release two new tracks today from the Nürburgring Grand Prix. The game has seen numerous track pack releases to keep the game fresh, so I'm sure that had a lot to do with gamers buying this superb racer. The track pack is available right now from Xbox LIVE for 400 Microsoft points. Turn 10's track record on DLC (excuse the pun) has been excellent so it will be interesting to see if the latest release can match previous quality. jerzdawg
Is 2 million good over the course of 4 months? Obviously its not going to hit crazy #s since racing genres are much smaller than action/adventure/FPS type games.. Turn 10 seems to be happy with these results but doesnt 2 million seem low compared to the # of xbox's sold?

Many games (even good ones) have a rough time getting to 1 mil. -Spenser

Not to mention a racer, which besides the GT series, has never been a hot selling genre. Forza 3 sales are up there with UC2 almost...and they were released near the same time. That is great for a racing game no doubt.
Livin in a box
As you can probably see in my sig I have the promotional copy of Forza 3 and it is really quite good, though I can already see that this is no match for GT- the stills of the cars just don't look very real at all; and although they looks good, GT5's look better. Granted i never considered GT5 a sim racer though, more like sim lite. not quite arcade, but definately not sim.
