God of War III gets 9 in world-first review in OPM UK

Recommended Posts

OPM UK has given God of War III a nine in the game?s first ever review in its latest issue hitting subs now. Stating the reason why it barely missed out on a ten, the magazine?s Nathan Ditum said in closing the review: ?The game is inches away from scoring 10/10, and it?s only the familiarity of the core gameplay that makes it feel less than the very, very best.

?But it?s definitely the biggest, and if this is the finale (and the corpses littering the stage by the end of the game suggest it might be), then God of War III gives PlayStation?s toughest hero the send-off he deserves.?

Goretastic.

Kratos? last stand releases on March 16 in the US and March 25 in Japan. The game?s release is being aimed at March 19 in the UK, although that is still to be confirmed.

A new trailer will air on GameTrailers TV in the US tomorrow night. It?ll be the first time a new trailer has aired for the hack-and-slash in nearly a year.

See, I'm okay with the core gameplay being the same. So it'll likely get a 10 from me :D

lol yea. i blame dantes inferno for biting off gow's gameplay/mechanics. bringing that style back before the real thing may have staled it for some.

I'm all for its original play. will more than likely be a 10 for me as well.

Its gameplay was never its calling anyway. It was always the sense of something epic happening around the player that did.

Really can't wait for this game. My PS3 does not get much action other than a blu about once a week or so. This will be the 2nd game I will play all the way through (Uncharted 2 being the 1st)

Look around you...

dont let the door hit you.

though i agree, none of those a blatant clone as D's Inferno was. tends to stale the experience overall. Bayonetta is more DMC'ish while Darksiders took a page off Zelda's book.

BTW, this won't be the last we see of Kratos, just of this storyline.

As long as they keep the action and quality storylines coming I don't mind. But the first sign of Kratos being turned into a cash cow and I will dump this series.

At the top of the page you just posted on, it says:

Please discuss topics respectfully. Attempts to bait others into flamewars will not be tolerated. The use of "fanboy" (or any similar derogatory term) when used against a specific member or group of members will be considered flame-bait and/or a personal attack.

Can we keep this respectful and on topic?
