Objexxx
I've read that the iPad will be using the new standard microSIM cards. That's all fine and dandy. But what I'm wanting to know is: will Apple be selling the iPad as a standalone product? i.e. without having to go through AT&T and sign a contract to purchase a media plan? And is the $499 price tag only if you purchase one through AT&T with a contract? p.s. The iPad does have a standard headphone jack, right? :p
Trong
No contract, you only have to sign up for a data plan with AT&T if you want 3G service. $15 a month for 250MB or $30 a month for "unlimited" (5GB a month). The $499 price point is an iPad with 16GB of storage and wifi capabilities but no 3G. And yes, it will include a 3.5 mm jack.
Sikh
They have 2 version. Wifi and 3G. The 3G of course has wifi, but because it has 3G its alittle more, and its monthly based. They stated this at there Event. Its going to have 2 different packages through ATT. You can cancel at anytime. Signing up with ATT will probably get you the iPad cheaper, but thats my guess. As of right now, if you buy it directly from apple your not tied to anything with the 3g version. It does have a standard headphone jack and a better speaker by the looks of it and what they said. http://www.apple.com/ipad/pricing/ Theres the pricing that i was explaining. Tech Star
The way that it was being talked about during the presentation was that there is going to be no contract. It does have the headphone jack.

Iian K
You would have to either go to AT&T and get the microSIM card, or order the service online.
