God of War III Vengeance Trailer

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to tell everyone how excited we are at SCEA Santa Monica Studio to release this new trailer for God of War III. Considering it has been almost a year since we have put out a new video, this is a really special time for us and we hope everyone enjoys it!

Just to give a little perspective on what we were going for with this trailer, we really wanted to sell the high action of the game and put together snippets of several of the big moments. Everything is pulled straight from the game – there is no trickery, etc. Everything is running in "real time." There are no "cinematic" sequences here, meaning this is all gameplay. Towards the end of the trailer we reveal some of the moments from our January media event. If you look closely you can see Kratos on the arm of Gaia fighting against the "Leviathan" water creature, giving a sneak peek of the scale in our game. I am very proud of the work our team has done and how this trailer showcases it. The final game has a ton more that is not shown here and I can't wait to see what everyone thinks about it!

Yes there's an official topic but me and DM agreed they were mostly for gameplay discussion, big news articles on games were okay to post separately so people are sifting through OT for content.

HD video at link.

God. Damn. Awesome. The scale. Bye bye Uncharted 2 for graphics.

Already posted in Official Thread. ;)

I know but it's a big piece of content, the unwritten book of official topics stated bigger news pieces could stay separate to keep people happy who don't have time to wade through 34982309482094 pages of an official topic.

When me and Munky used to make official topics people would complain they'd miss out on game news due to it being buried all over separate pages. Official topics are really just for talking about the game and keeping some news together, which is why we usually only post 2-3 weeks before release.

It's nothing big, man. Just a new trailer. Nothing to warrant it's own thread. All that follows up on it still sits within the game itself. Not a separate event.

Though I have to agree, if one takes point in creating an 'Official" thread. Least that can be done is keep it up-to-date. Now that everyone can edit first posts, there really isn't any excuse for having to dig through a thread for info.*hint hint soniq* ;)

Um a new trailer with new video footage is quite big, a new picture or two, or LBP skins would be pointless making a topic for.

Trailers were one of the exact things people raged at me and Munky about when we had the GH Official topics debate. Which is why we said Official topics would be created like a week or two before with all the updated info and used for PLAYING the game discussion, as at that point there usually isn't any big announcements left - Months before a game is out though there is usually large uncoverings still to come, which is why I'm separating this from page whatever it's on in the OT.

Anyway, less bickering and more talking about how ****ing awesome it is :p

Sry dude. lets just agree to disagree. this belongs in the official thread. It's a trailer. not an xpack, nor modification nor event.

It's the duty of an 'official' thread starter to keep that first post updated for everyone. else dont take up the task. When its created is really irrelavant. at least it should be.

Whats the difference in searching through a particular thread and a forum with multiple titles on the subject? There is none.

Anyways, all good. Do your thing.
You don't get it do you?

The OT was created way too early, should of been a week or two before, not months.

And you can disagree all you want, DirtyLarry was also a supporter of these terms between me and Munky so you won't be seeing this merged.

Obviously, I dont get it. What does the time of thread creation have to do with anything, as long as it's being updated throughout with substantial info ?

Example. Sethos BFBC2 Official thread. Very well updated. Not exactly created yesterday.

If you feel the need to create a new thread on every piece of info pertaining to a game that has it's own thread, then by all means... Just not efficient imo. Let's not stop till all is buried..

Did you not read anything I said?

I said substantial information can still have it's own topics prior to the games release.

Err you two does it really matter who created the freaking topic or whatever (I really couldn't care less). Get over it, and discuss how awesome the trailer is (Y)

REALLY looking forward to this now, I am just about to buy a PS3 in time for GOWIII. And that trailer made me wee (with excitement ;)) a little bit :D

I haven't even played it, and I know it is going to be a 10/10 for me.

For this game we decided to try and blend in the cinematic sequences with the in-game sequences,so all models and assets are used for cinematics and for in-game. The Kratos that you will control will be the same you see in extreme close ups, no smoke and mirrors, no model switching. There is no CG cutscenes like the ones in previous GOW games. What you see in cinematics is what you get in-game, no difference.

I've read that there are no loading screens either as it's all done during the cutscenes.

True, I'm sure it's been posted on this board somewhere.
