Gear Bags

Recommended Posts

It's always a PITA carrying my desktop to LANs.. I have a gearbag but I still end up making multiple trips because it can't carry everything..

How do you guys do this? Is there even a way to do it so you just have to make 1 single trip?

Do they make gearbags that fit monitors too?

Man I miss GearBags, Xbags etc. I usually make 2 trips and put everything back in its box. My tower goes in its box, my monitor goes in its box. I then have a bookbag for mouse keyboard power cord, etc.

After all this I make 2 trips in and take everything out 2 trips back. Then i stay for 12-48 hours and then make 4 trips again.

This is the least possible way. Also doesnt help i have a huge case. But, I dont mind it, not too hard.

I have never brought my full desktop to LANs. It was usually only the keyboard, the mouse and the headphones. Now I carry my ASUS G71G laptop in my ASUS bag, also the headpnohes, the mouse, some food, some drinks, some CDs, and other stuff. Its quite a big bag. :)

Never been in a LAN party before, and never will be, but... Have you thought about using a car, or.. two bags ?

Either way, why do you have to bring the whole desktop ? Don't they provide some of the peripherals ? Or even the computers themselves ? Or am I thinking of something else here ?

They provide the stuff, but its mostly broken, it sucks, its dirty, its bad, its add_whatever_you_like_here. Not sure why you would want bring the whole PC, but the peripherals are a must. You'll do much better playing with your mouse/keyboard (with which you play every day, and feel it like an extension to your arm) than playing with whatever they give you there.

Well I watched one or two LAN "parties" online (WoW tournament) and the equipment seemed very nice, from the little I can remember it all looked identical too, as if the organizers provided it, I guess not all LAN parties are like that :<

I can see why you'd want your own kb/mouse though, good point :)

My old Lian-Li case came with a strap for carrying around the case and you could attach the monitor to it also. It was pretty nice
