DJP
@binary Click here to get my style. You have to enable cleartype to get a mac font look. It's only 300 kb http://www.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=1749 BTW Next version will be 1,8 MB. That's because sound and icons are added.
Binary
Wickedkitten you must be doped up or something, I can name alot of people in this thread alone that are more talented then me. Ahra, and Xcert are like the gods of msstyles, and I admit that without hesitation, so I dont see where you think I'm being bigheaded or anything. I simply said some aqua styles I have seen didnt meet MY standards(I have very high standards for how clean looking I like a theme to be. Thats my preference, which may not be the same as yours, so dont knock it). And of course I want to get some opinions on my theme, because I wasnt going to release it unless people thought I should, I figured there have been more then enough aqua themes :) So to sum it all up, I could give a rats ass if you like my themes or not,if you dont, then dont use them. Wont hurt my feelings in the least. :D Chris
Guest foo
I was comparing WB aqua skins to styles aqua skins. Compared to the styles skins, the WB skins are perfect. At least the WB buttons and titlebars are in the right space and have the right size. can't exactly do that with syles stuff. But if you want to exclude the dock bar, the other wb characteristics are pretty much flawless. Put the real aqua next to a wb skin and you can't find the difference. foo
Ja450n
One comment... i know it sounds like i'm being an @$$ but.. well.. I was the first to do any type of Aqua Skin for XP.... and the Second to make a full actual XPStyle... i'm not all that self centerd... i just don't like people taking credit for my work... and i get ****ed (and have the right to do so) when people claim to have the most realistic looking theme.. when they have never used a Mac b4.. all these other Aqua themes have WAY too big Title Bars.. To Big of TaskBars... Too Big of Start Buttons... Scroll bars are wrong... and the Buttons don't have shadows.. i claim to have the most authentic skin for only 2 reasons.. I have a Mac with OSX. and i don't use Screenshots off the Web... i make TIFF images from my mac.. and if any of you know about Graphics.. you will know that TIFF's have NO compression.. and therefore do not loose any quailty.. (they are however VERY LARGE in file size) that said... for those of you wishing to make a "REAL" OSX Style for XP.. i wish you luck... One Last suggestion... Don't let StyleBuilder hold you back..... There are MANY things that Cannot be done in style builder... i have only used stylebuilder to test it.. (in alpha and beta form). thanks again to all of those who have supported my theme... and for those who suggest that i buy a mac.... i HAVE one.. i merly with for my PC to look like it... :p -ja450n
Faction
Jeez you guys getting a little hostile. :o When is your MacOS theme coming out binary?
Binary
heh thanks scoobie.....(I'm not that good) Faction it will be out for sure in final form by the end of the month. It's about 3/4 done, but after that I'm gonna need to test everything. And Ja450n I'm sorry if I sounded rude towards you, my OS X wont be perfect, but it will be as close as I can make it, plus I will add things according to my tastes, whether thats the "real" way or not. But I promise everyone it will look good, I'm fairly anal about cleanliness. For those who have seen the preview, if you liked that, then you'll like the final :) Sometimes I think I'm working on a mac :ermm: j/k :p
mDagar
Looking at your "preview" in your thread, Binary, That is going to be a great one :) And knowing you, from your watercolor port :) , This one is going to be as clean and complete as you can make it. And Will be sure to check it out :) But all I want to know is ........ Why is this thread about Binary's theme and not DJP's theme ???? Or did I miss something ....:paranoid: :ponder: :cheeky: :ermm: :old: Oh ... and one more thing ... Binary ... Will it have a nice Vertical taskbar for us ppl that use it that way ... ? Binary
I dont know why it's about my theme now lmao, I'll start my own thread and post updated pics I guess.... I dont care if people copy any of my ideas anymore, its going to happen anyways :) We should all share or ideas to get the best looking theme by combining all of them :) Vertical taskbar.. I dont know..... I didnt think people used those anyways : But of course I'll try to make it look just as good as the horizontal one. DJP
I will reduce size of titlebars in the next version. I already got it on my computer. Also the big size will also be available. And no ja450n i will not use your theme for the correct bitmaps, so don't be worried. And ja450n, i don't have a mac @home but i have worked with one, so don't tell me i never worked with it. And **** off with that TIFF ****. Greetings.
Ja450n
TIFF **** ???? do you not know what a tiff is ?????? i could easily get into a fight over this... (TIFF and JPG's are like comparing AVI to RAM) but.. i won't... Vertical taskbar.. I dont know..... I didnt think people used those anyways :" just a thought... why would you WANT to use a vertical task bar ??

DJP
TIFF is an acronym for Tag(ged) Image File Format
Ja450n
TIFF writes a large file using lossless compression, meaning there are no losses -you can always read back in what you wrote out, without data corruption. JPG uses a lossy compression, that is, some quality is lost when the file is written (saved), and it cannot be recovered :p

DJP
TIFF was developed by Aldus and Microsoft Corp, and the specification was owned by Aldus, which in turn merged with Adobe Systems, Incorporated. Consequently, Adobe Systems now holds the Copyright for the TIFF specification. TIFF is a trademark, formerly registered to Aldus, and which is now claimed (though not yet registered) by Adobe Systems, Inc But i like png more then tiff. PNG ROX!!!!!! Krome
Binary, Here's an idea for you... since most of the Mac OS X is using horizontal bar, why not something different... How about Mac OS X look-alike with a twist... vertical bar like Longhorn but with the cool aqua... :) and oh please... don't make it look so much like the Mac that you have to use the pinstrip...
Binary
I started another thread for my theme so we can let DJP have his thread back ;) and of course it's going to have the pinstripe, what kind of aqua theme would I be making if it didnt? :p
DJP
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally found a solution to the " google" problem. Maybe you have noticed the buttons disappear on the google site. It's fixed now. I'll put it on my website. Funny to see some other new aquathemes have the same problem? Hmmm, somebody copied something? :D
