S00N3R FR3AK
So I have gone back to playing some Battlefield 2. Only problem is I get kicked within a min or two with PB saying I was kicked for having a "Disallowed Program/Driver (125083)". I did some searching but what I found didn't help. The only thing I saw that rang a bell was someone asked if they had just installed a anti-virus as I just did. Just got AVG as time warner claimed my computer was infected and wouldn't let me use the internet(it wasn't). Would just installing AVG cause this problem as I didn't have it last time I played but I would like to keep a anti-virus on my computer for now. Sikh
Disable AVG and try it. If it still happens Disable AVG real time scan or the equivalent. Sometimes PB is bs because whenever i have EVGA Precision open, it will ALWAYS say that error. Why because EVGA Precision runs an On Screen display driver that shows me temps of my card and fan speed. I have to set the fan speed, close EVGA Precision then PB works. S00N3R FR3AK
Ok well I just uninstalled AVG and got the same problem. Drivers are the same as they were 5 months ago when I last played. At this point no idea what to do.
Sikh
Ok, heres another problem. Its stupid btw. Are you playing BF2 through steam? Meaning did you buy it from Steam? If you did you have to disable the steam in game overlay. I had to do this for bf2.
S00N3R FR3AK
Yes I bought it when it got put on steam but had no problems then. How do I disable the overlay for the game?
farmeunit
I've never been kicked for that, but I always run PBSetup from Even Balance's website when I do get kicked. Not sure if that would help you or not though. On a side note: I have a lot better luck with Avira than AVG though. Or you might look at Microsoft's Security Essentials. I seem to remember AVG causing problems with another program a while back, but couldn't tell you the name. +SOOPRcow MVC Posted February 15, 2010 MVC Share Posted February 15, 2010 A lot of stuff with an overlay will give you that error message. Including versions of Fraps. Punkbuster, I think, is a little to cautious about overlays.
Sikh
It is the overlay. I bought BF2 when it was $8 during the steam sale. I played it on problems, now all of a sudden if im playing with the Overlay, I get that same error. Go to Settings > In Game(Tab) > Uncheck the box. Play for a bit. Youll see it works. PBSetup is also a great program to have to manually update PB without going to go find the updates. You add the games to a list and it does the rest. Either way, its stupid how PB thinks some things are hacks but others arent. It does well weeding out hacks but non hacks sometime get blamed. Duality
Depending on how the PB install at the server side is configured - some servers may kick you for having the Steam overlay enabled. You could make a troubleticket over at the Evenbalance site and see what they have to say about it.
