Cable Internet Question

Recommended Posts

I was wondering.

I am about to get cable internet from a small local ISP and I was wondering...

If I wire the cable internet feed together, could I could I use 2 modems on one account, since I have an extra cable modem laying around. I just don't want to go out and buy wireless cards because I have to spread it out across about 200 feet.

Thanks In Advance!

i think the only way to use 2 modems is to use a router. and with cable internet i'm pretty sure they dont allow more than one computer on an account

for the second modem to work you would have to pay for it , WHY ? because the mac address has to be registered with thier system in order to work. As for the wireless just get a wireless router and a card and you would be set .

Single Cable Modem and Wireless router (or a ported router) is the way to go... I have several friends doing it, works great....
