SMELTN
Yeah I have a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L mobo and I wanted to do the same thing you are discussing. I wanted to sell my PC and buy a small Mac, but honestly after thinking about and looking it over, you won't get enough for your PC to pay for your mac, not even close... I wanted to go Hackintosh... and still do bad... but my problem is, the more I started reading, the more I see about people using DSDT stuff now, and having to inject drivers here, and ktexts there, it sounds way to complicated now. I had a OSx86 install back over a year or 2 ago and it was great, but it was "download this iso, burn, check the equipment you have install done"
monknster
Running hackintosh is a lot easier than you might think. You do have compatible motherboard and I think ATI driver support has caught up for 4800 cards. Just dedicated one whole day for install and it would be smooth experience from there. If you have any questions you can PM and I'll try to help you out.

rawr_boy81
What is the main purpose of the computer? Although I'll be eaten alive stating this but it would be unwise if you happen to be a major gamer to go and then purchase a Mac because you'll find that you'll be disappointed. For everything else a Mac is ok as long as you're willing to accept that things are different and not to operate in the windows mindset you'll find the transition easy.
