Ubisoft releases new online DRM

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I wasn't being sarcastic, I'm very annoyed by people that cry about rural areas and the internet there.

It might not make a lick of sense to any of you, but oh well, I just read this crap one too many times.. I hate this DRM (and all others) just as much as you do, it's not about that.

As I said in my earlier response: I have a sweet house I pay virtually nothing for, on gorgeous property. I'm not going to move just to get a better internet connection so I can play a game because some *explitive removed* of a company decides to implement the crummiest DRM in history

Your sarcasm was duly noted.

I'm a paying customer and I still use cracks for most games I have. Lumping everyone together that uses cracks, as pirates, is a bit lame.

I didn't lump anyone together. Can you point out where you think I did?

Here's what I said:

When are paying customers going to get a clue and use the same cracks the pirates use? It doesn't make you a pirate to use cracks on games you paid for.

Ubisoft will stop this crap when the stink gets bad enough or their sales plummet. Starforce anyone? Just give it a year or so and it will go away.

Then get over it, you're up in arms about this DRM then it's obviously important to you, if it's more important than your life then go ahead and move out, if it isn't, then don't play the god damn game, easy as pie.

That's my whole point, it's not like Ubisoft will bend over because you want them to, they'll only do so if they'll lose money, which they won't - unless the majority of gamers live in rural areas with crappy or no internet access.

See MW2, people were so ****ed about IW or whatever the hell they call themselves, yet it sold so many copies and won the multiplayer game of the year ! The whining makes no difference, I bet some people that whine about this DRM will STILL buy the game, not because they're saints but because they're too addicted to do something about it.

So, while I'd like to see this DRM burn in hell with the rest of Ubisoft's upper management, there's nothing worthwhile we can do about it. So either say that you disagree and won't buy their product, or say that you don't care and will buy their product, stop whining about your awesome house with 10 bedrooms but no internet access.

Honestly man, you really need to take a chill pill. I have ALREADY said that I will probably just buy the 360 version and pirate the pc version. Apparently you can't read. Oh, and my house only has 4 bedrooms. I wasn't bragging about my house, I was saying it IS RETARDED FOR YOU TO SUGGEST I MOVE OVER A GAME. YOU ARE AN IDIOT. NOBODY WILL MOVE OVER A GAME! QUIT TELLING PEOPLE TO MOVE OR SHUT UP.

Bold and clear enough for you?

BTW: Public backlash has changed many things, we all hope (aside from you apparently) that it will change this as well.

I was speaking my mind, I wasn't specifically addressing every detail that you've posted.

Nice to see the insults making an entrance, thanks for those.

All I'm saying is that I had it with people whining about no internet access in rural areas. I'm with you on this, it's retarded to suggest to move, but it's just as retarded to cry about it, it's just a ****ing game.

Only future will tell, I predict that Ubisoft will disregard any complaints about this new DRM, UNLESS they see a dramatic drop in sales, which might not suffice as they release the game on several platforms, so the consoles might offset the PC losses and Ubisoft will laugh at us PC gamers.
