New Splinter Cell: Conviction Story Trailer

Looks good, though his hair looked odd when the huge explosion went off behind him (it was extremely patchy looking and didn't look much like hair). But story + gameplay trumps graphics, and from the trailer both look pretty good.

Man, I've been waiting for this game for what seems like forever. At least they have a solid release date now.

Trailer definitely looks nice, and the story seems far more interesting than the previous SC games' stories. I just hope that they don't dumb down the stealth aspect of the series too much (or rather, more than they already have). I heard one developer interview where he referred to the gameplay as "faster paced" and that kinda set off a warning in my head. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

I think the stealth system has needed something majorly new to keep the series fresh. More of the same is not what I want. This game looks like the right way to go.

True enough. If the game played exactly the same as the first Splinter Cell, I would probably be disappointed. I'm just hoping that after their improvements, stealth still remains at the forefront of the game. In essence, I just don't want the game to turn into another third person action game, since the world already has more than enough of those.

That was awesome. I want to buy the PC version but I'm afraid Ubisoft will lace it with their crappy online DRM.

Hadn't really seen or heard much about this since E3 but that trailer was really a rollercoaster ride. I've only played part of one SC game and really disliked the series in the past, but I have a feeling that won't be the case anymore!

Hey hold on a sec. When did his daughter get younger? I could swear to god at the end of the first one she's like, 18 or something.

I can't be remembering it wrong.

That aside, the trailer looked good, and I like how they added more action along with the stealth. It looks like now you can sneak in, setup the right situation then go off guns blazing real quick to take out 3 or 4 targets in a flash. I like it!

Hey hold on a sec. When did his daughter get younger? I could swear to god at the end of the first one she's like, 18 or something.

I can't be remembering it wrong.

"While Fisher was working on an U.S. Air Force Base in Germany during the 1980s, he met and later married Regan Burns in 1984. They had one daughter together, Sarah (born 31 May 1985). Fisher and Regan later divorced and she had Sarah's surname changed. Regan died from ovarian cancer in 1989, and Sarah was killed by a "drunk driver" in September 2007. However, it was soon revealed that the death of his daughter was no accident. In Splinter Cell: Conviction, Fisher attempts to uncover why his daughter was murdered, and what connections it has to Third Echelon, which has become bogged down with red tape to the point of ineffectiveness and corruption."

So I think it's a flashback

Oh god that looks so badass. Seriously great gameplay going on, it's got the it's stealth roots but the action is upped with the fancy takedowns and the fact you just gun and move so quick around the place unlike the slow sneaking from before.

Very very good.
