Infinity Ward can't compete with DICE online - EA

Recommended Posts

Played the Battlefield BC2 demo and really disliked it.

I purchased the original BC and though it was a poor game.

I'm sorry DICE and EA but in my opinion MW2 has you beat, online or otherwise.

Look at the thread title, DICE are saying they are so great and better than Infinity Ward, thats the only reason i mentioned MW2, at least i can play that without losing my connection every 15 mins.....

Incorrect, EA are saying it not DICE.

If you maybe listed some reasons why you disliked it maybe someone can help you with those issues? That is if you want to figure out why you dislike the game..

I'm really skeptical about Bad Company 2 mainly because of Dice and EA. When I got my PS3 in December, one of the first purchases I made for it was Battlefield 1943, and after downloading and installing it I only got to play it once. Every time I try to connect to it now it keeps saying "game cannot be found" and won't let me play. That's one time in 3 months I've been able to play the game. There are even people on their fourms that haven't been able to play in 5 months... and DICE and EA have admitted there is a problem, but have done nothing to fix it...

I want Bad Company 2 to do well, but I just don't have any faith in DICE and EA.

FTL when it's EA though. Not only do you get connection issues and drops with the lame EA online, but they close down their servers too soon, making the game unplayable.

thank god i got the PC version (beta). the pc version kicks a$. no connection issues, very lil lag, unless i am on a euro server... there is lag on them but is manageable. i find the gameplay rather fun.

Aren't the Battlefield servers from the xbox version still going?

Umm, Dedicated servers so it doesn't even matter. You aren't playing on EA servers just logging into a master server to authenticate the game. So this point is totally moot, oh and before you say they'll close the login server BF2's is still open and that's 5 year old now.

Edit: Sorry should have mentioned for the PC version otherwise your point is totally valid, my bad.

For BF1, yes. BF2MC, no. Note post above mine. I have 4 games that I have bought in the past 3 years that are already rendered useless by EA.

Actually, it does matter for console versions.

Which?

My non-working EA online titles that I own are:

Tiger Woods 06

Madden 09 (April of this year)

Madden 08

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat

NHL 07

NASCAR 08

One's in bold are the most recent ones I bought. Had I known that EA was dropping the server support, taking away from the value of my games, I wouldn't have bought them. Some I paid $60, and the older titles I still bought new, but at platinum pricing. It doesn't say on the box that I will lose functionality of my game after X number of months.

Not to mention, EA online in general has been subpar.

You do realise they're only dropping Madden 09 support for the original Xbox, right?

Not really.

Hardly ever had a problem with MW2's P2P system.

it's actually all platforms that were announced. And not to be a broken record but the reliabilty and up time of ea online is horrid.
