Ironman273
After some discussion of the Flash tag a dev (sorry if I can't remember who) helpfully implemented a YouTube tag to embed YouTube videos. They also implemented a wyoutube tag for the wide youtube video. I was wondering if they could be changed again so that the regular youtube tag will automatically be widescreen since youtube has gone in that direction and therefore eliminate the wyoutube tag. Making the video a little bigger wouldn't hurt either ;)
Rappy Veteran Posted February 19, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 19, 2010 the media button also implements Youtube normally as well as a side point, I wonder if more video sites can be implemented like dailymotion, myspace etc will be useful for media section. I didn't even know about the media button. Edit: But it doesn't make YouTube widescreen :( [media][url="http://www.vimeo.com/2103787"]http://www.vimeo.com/2103787[/url][/media] http://www.vimeo.com/2103787 [wyoutube]3u4O-TKcJMw[/wyoutube]
torrentthief
it also removes the maximise button from the bottom right, we have to double click the youtube watermark and open it in a new window to have the ability to be able to maximise it :(
torrentthief
looks like you figured out how to make it widescreen and have a maximise button:) Could the neowin website designers make the youtube video button make them widescreen with a maximise button by default please! Well, that's with the YouTube tag I was talking about. If you use [wyoutube] and the video's number you get the YouTube video in widescreen. If you leave out the "w" in the tab then you get 4:3. I was just asking to make the normal [youtube] tag deafult to widescreen since that's how YouTube has all their videos now.
Rappy Veteran Posted February 19, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 19, 2010 Neobond recently in a thread I saw embedded a google video into a post so I wonder how he did that (maybe admin rights)

P.S. I also couldn't add more videos to the post where all the videos were. Apparently there is a limit.

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted February 19, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 19, 2010 The media BBCode is intended for general media, like YouTube and Google Video. If you want to post a widescreen YouTube video, simply use the widescreen BBCode (titled "Widescreen YouTube" in the Other Styles list). A dedicated button would be nice though. torrentthief
yeah a dedicated widescreen youtube button with maximise enabled would be great, give it the youtube icon too and rename the current media button "non-youtube media" or something.
