+BudMan MVC Posted February 24, 2010 MVC Share Posted February 24, 2010 Well for the life of me I can not see why you would want to run this software - there are all kinds of alternate docks and menu type programs if you don't like the start menu, etc. But I was able to duplicate your problem - it runs on win7 64bit, and works using RDP as well. And it works on xp if your using the console - but if you rdp in yup get a ntdll.dll error. I grabbed that analyser - attached is the log file. tw32.exe.summary.txt But again -- I just don't see the point in this software.. But sure it was pretty kewl for win 3.1 ;) http://www.launchy.net/ is one example of different methods of launching programs, there loads of them out there. mpg187
Is there Amarok for Windows? Anyways, I am used to tabworks and it's twf format... I like the fact that all my "books" are stored in files I can easily backup, etc... Can anyone make sense of that log? Why would it list Internet Explorer and Windows Media player in there? Where you running them at the time?
+BudMan MVC Posted February 24, 2010 MVC Share Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) Well for sure was not running media player, and no for IE as well. as to amarok - there is a windows version, atleast a test version http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Download:Windows But isn't that a music player - not really a replacement for your start menu, etc.?? As to be used to it - so? IMHO it looks like CRAP! And is way more cluttered looking than the start menu, etc. With 7, i don't really even use the start menu any more just type in the first few letters of what Im looking for a search - and there you go. Here you go this jetstart looks a lot nicer that that 3.1 software - and looks to have way more features as well.. And the tabs for your different types of applications are not sideways in EYE BLEEDING colors either ;) http://www.codesector.com/jetstart.php edit: this looks pretty kewl as well http://tokyodownstairs.blogspot.com/2008/03/magic-formation.html There a loads of these things out there - I can find it hard to believe that you can not find something you like that was actually coded in the last 10 years, ie 2k+ Edited February 24, 2010 by BudMan
mpg187
That picture was from http://www.launchy.net, the site you posted. The person in the screenshot was using it to launch Amarok. I still like Tabworks better because I am used to it...
+BudMan MVC Posted February 24, 2010 MVC Share Posted February 24, 2010 Well have fun with it ;) But doesn't look like runs under xp or 2k3 with RDP. Prob work with VNC vs rdp though.
mpg187
I need RDP though...
mpg187
OK I figured out it works in 256 Color in an RDP Session. For home that's fine for me, but my I use my VM at school for everyday tasks and would like to have more than 256 Colors and my desktop on this VM is really crowded, it would be nice to remove some of these program icons... mpg187
How come it works on the computer but doesn't work in an RDP Session unless it's 256 colors?
