Trix.Neo
Hi, Just wondered if there was any news on Half-life Episode 3? Screens, estimated release or just some half rumours... It's about the only game I'm going to have time to play between a new job and twins on the way just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed it! TIA
lalalawawawa
No, nothing. Well, apart from few screenshots.
Sethos
Newell ate the source code again, so they have to start from scratch ... again. Pajter 1 Share
coresx
Don't expect anything in 2010 apparently. I think they are making a new engine for it.
forster
Even Sonic has episodic content now, which never works. Good games with frequent episodic releases instead of games with long development times. Well done Gabe, well done.
lalalawawawa
The Steam crap must be making them lots of money, so why work on another HL when they can relax and watch the cash flow. I'm slowly losing respect for Valve.
Sulphy
mmm..... HL3..... about time too! other than the new AVP.... got nuthin to sink my teeth into.... unless blizzard finally gets D3 and Starcraft 2 out!

I'm slowly losing respect for Valve. Or they're actually making sure that it's going to floor everyone. Valve will (almost) always have my respect and support. Hurmoth
The Steam crap must be making them lots of money, so why work on another HL when they can relax and watch the cash flow. I'm slowly losing respect for Valve. Don't think they're sitting back doing nothing. That isn't fair at all. They have several different games that they are working on and they don't have a lot of developers compared to the monsters like EA. Plus, they are in the process of moving offices sometime this year too. They're going from a 30,000 square feet office to a new 70,000 square feet office sometime this year according to Chet Faliszek. They have Half-Life 2 Series, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and Left 4 Dead 2. This was an interview with Chet last year: "And Half-Life 2: Episode Three is still in development? Faliszek: We'll see. We'll see if it's dead? Faliszek: No, no. Until we have something we have to announce we tend not to talk about what we're working on. But we're a studio of 250 people now and about 60 made Left 4 Dead 2. We're actually moving next year from our 30,000 square feet office to a new 70,000 square feet office." ToneKnee
At least Steam makes games with DRM more manageable unlike some companies like EA and Ubisoft etc filling games with complete crap.
cropcircles
Had me excited there for a second. Just love to hate Valve. They take so damn long but when its released it will be incredible I'm sure. They always seem to raise the bar with each episode or release. Trix.Neo
Had me excited there for a second. I was excited by 10 replies alas they weren't 10 replies reprimanding me for not having played it already because I had missed the release  Valve are great - @ making great games and making you wait vast amounts of time for them. lalalawawawa
Don't get me wrong, I love Steam. And I love Valve's games, got nearly all of them (don't own just one or two of the classic games). But I only love it for their games. The support for other games is just... bad. I know that this is sensitive matter that must be sorted out between Valve and the publisher of the game, but many times its not (talking from first hand experience with some games). Also, add here the "dollar = euro" thing. That's why they are kind of losing respect from my point of view.
.KICK
I don't get it, they said they would give us 3 episodes because it would be quicker to do that than make Half-Life 3 but so far, its been near 6 years and episode 3 still is not out! It has only been 3 years since Episode 2 though, so that's not horrible. I don't understand why people complain so much, it isn't like this is a new thing from Valve. Look at how long it took between TFC and TF2. I'm sure there's other things you guys can fill your time with.

Obviously it'll be tweaked but they still are taking their time!
