Apple care question.

Recommended Posts

So I have a question about Apple's education discount for apple care. My g/f gets a better discount on apple care then I do....Is it possible for her to buy it, then gift it to me?

I've always been curious about this.

Cause wouldn't that be the same if someone sold their macbook with apple care after they didnt want it anymore?

Yes she can buy it and you can use it on your computer, you might also want to check on ebay....there's some REALLY cheap applecare subscriptions on there....I always buy mine from ebay

Yes, and if you can get access to her academic connection you can just buy it yourself, they just use the originating IP to control access to the store (for higher education at least).

I have a colleague who recently used his brothers uni connection to score a not inconsiderable discount on his new mac.

She was just going to go into the Apple store with her ID and get it.

I know in Canada they don't use IP control for online orders(for educational prices)
