SojIrOu
Yeah they do. It's a really cheap and effective way to generate publicity.I've been waiting on an MBP revision for around 2 months now . two months is nothing. I've been waiting since October/November. I bought two macbook pros and returned them a week later because of a "rumour" the new one was coming out. :(
DrCheese
Taking the store down just to update is retarded, but it does give them a lot of free marketing. Taking it down worldwide when you have nothing to add to those non US websites is just retarded.

Taking it down worldwide when you have nothing to add to those non US websites is just retarded. But it sure as hell gets everyone talking, so mission accomplished. I'm hoping the new models come out soon, so I can scoop up a 13" MBP for a few hundred less. I'd buy one now, but I just can't bring myself to toss money away like that...*yet*. By next month I don't know if I'll be saying the same thing.
rawr_boy81
I think it'll be around April with a special branch of 10.6.3 to include support for a new chipset. For me, my MacBook went crunch after falling down some stairs so I needed the laptop immediately. I got the MacBook Pro 2.53Ghz 13.3 inch model and honestly, I don't think many people would notice the difference going from Core 2 to i3 or i5 (I don't see i7 getting into a laptop - runs far too hot). The great thing these days is that computers are so fast that the compelling argument years ago really no longer has much pulling factor so it would be interesting to see how many of the computers Apple are selling are to first time Mac users versus those who are just refreshing their machine. Btw, the 9400M is awesome! My old MacBook had a X3100 and it was horrible, and the plastic casing meant that I always found it running a little more hot than I liked but since getting the MacBook Pro the temperatures are averaging around 35-40 Degree's Celsius. bjoswald
Just a little sweepstake(no prizes :p) about when we think the new Macbook Pro update will be revealed. I wish they would hurry up, so tempted just to buy one now. Normally I would 'just buy it', but considering the price and possible improvements :/ So place your bets ;D November. No particular reason, just a random guess.

But the biggest issue here is that they are selling last generation gear for current generation prices, which is crazy and the main reason for people to be holding off. But it sure as hell gets everyone talking, so mission accomplished. oh ya of course, but it didn't make any sense to take down stores worldwide when they received no updates whatsoever. Think how stupid it would be to take down the store worldwide everytime a country gets the ipad preorder.
acnpt
I care more about the ram and hard drive upgrades, and the possibilty of USB 3.0 and extra ports.
Gocom
I'm wondering if they will include cosmetics changes; smaller screen frames, panel changes, no gloss option, le-le-le-led changes and remove the last couple visible holes making the tracpad etc. seemless. I'm not saying those are needed or I want them, but I just want to know. What I really want to see is all specs inside updated and not to see SSD update that costs 400 dollars, lol. Altho, I'm not going to get new book anytime soon.

SojIrOu
Ladies and Gentlemen: The Apple Store is DOWN again. I repeat: The Apple Store is DOWN. Maybe today is the day? Saw some rumours about it being today at Macrumours and some listings at Microcenter prediciting 3 new 15" MBP and 1 17" MBP. I returned 3 macbook pros because I felt it was "coming soon" hope its really today. :)
Vice
Reminds me of my wait for the 17" Unibody MBP. I waited like 8 months for that to release
Brian M. Veteran Posted April 13, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 13, 2010 I shouldn't look at this. I've been tempted to upgrade my 15" to a 17" for a while now - if they throw a nice i7 into the 17" then I'm about to lose alot of money :(.
