Team Fortress 2 Starcraft 1 and Starcraft 2 Diablo 3 and 2 Guild Wars Here are my speedtest results and such - I would love to beable to play Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 when they come out, so all opinions are appriciated :) Thanks, Cameron. Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted February 26, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 26, 2010 You can play them however, the lag would be rather horrible, not to mention you cannot play Diablo 3 nor Starcraft II currently (Unless you are in the current StarCraft II beta)

I mean, for example if i turned the graphics level down to minimum.. would that help?
Phenom II
Are you using Mobile Broadband ? I find I get a much faster connection with mobile broadband by ditching their connection software, and just using windows dial up connection it creates to connect with from network connections

+jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted February 26, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted February 26, 2010 You should be fine, but watch the bandwith. You don't want any huge contract bills. T-Mobile isn't unlimited, as it is advertised. It depends how much you pay, but if you pay ?15 per month, you get 3GB, and if you go over slightly they just write it off, etc etc.

Yea, i get unlimited web browsing and 3GB Data limit for torrents and stuff for ?15... apprently they dont financially cripple you though if you go over :p
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted February 26, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 26, 2010 The latency is going to make it fairly un-enjoyable, along with possible packet loss.
+jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted February 26, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted February 26, 2010 I used to sell those things, we had to actually change our wording from 'Unlimited' to 'Fair Use' instead. :p Lots of people complained about huge bills! +jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted February 26, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted February 26, 2010 To be honest all the millions of patches and updates are the biggest problem with online games. In a busy gaming situation I'd say download is around 30kb/s.

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted February 26, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 26, 2010 Download and upload isn't the issue (you've got more than enough of both), the issue is how long the data takes to get to the server (and from the server to you), and how much of that data gets lost. XionUK
I use T-Mobile UK USB Broadband and while your on the 3G it's perfectly usable for anything, the lag isn't bad at all - when your in your throttle thought - your get limited to exactly web browsing, nothing else works. You can get around the lack of MSN n stuff by using Meebo or something similar
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted February 26, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 26, 2010 The latency is quite bad, for reference here's mine. 2,300 kilometers is 1,429.15 miles

What does T-Mobile throttle you to once you go over your limit?

What does T-Mobile throttle you to once you go over your limit? Nothing - you still get your same speed but they just must block stuff somewhere in the line. giantpotato
That latency is pretty bad. I mean, it's worse than XBOX Natal's lag :p.
